“Great little boutique hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2009

This bright new super clean little boutique hotel is great value for money and in close walking distance of the river esplanade and china town.

The Manager Kho and his staff were extremely obliging, friendly and helpful.

Chef Abang Abdul Rahman's signature dish 'Ikan Assam' costing $A5 is a gourmet treat.

We stayed 5 nights and would highly recommend The Lime Tree.

Just return from Kuching for a 4 days working trip and stayed in this hotel for that duration. The hotel is owned by a retired civil servant. Since it is quite new so the room is clean and bright. The owner has a Lime plantation somewhere in Kuching so the theme color in the hotel obviously is green. The breakfast is so so but there again, the Kuching Laksa and Kolo mee are just round the corner. The China Town and Riverside is within short walking distance.

The owner can even give you a free ride to the airport if he happened to wants to visit his lime plantation. The couple and the daughter is always there to help you. Good place to stay if you are looking for clean, bright room with reasonable price.

This is my first visit to kuching and was on a budget!

After much sourcing around the area, i found Lime Tree! Yes Indeed, it's new but it's pretty good for value for the amount the money we are forging out.

The hotel was one of the better bargains around in Kuching! It's not at at the waterfront area at Sarawak but hey, it's only like 10 minutes away. The location is straight-forward and in fact, it's pretty good for "Chinatown" is just tucked right behind Lime Tree Hotel! You can easily find at least 5-10 cafes/coffee-shops behind. What's more, they have the famous Sarawak Laksa just around the corner! A pity that i couldn't get to try though.

Oh yeah, back to the hotel!

I had a good impression of the hotel right from the start from the way they correspond to all my queries. We were picked up at the Airport by the Julie, the daughter of the hotel owner. It was a pleasant surprise and we were very glad that she had arranged everything for us throughout our short stay of 2 days there.

If you looking for a good and affordable place to stay at, this is really the place for you.
The rooms can be a little bit tad small but for someone with a budget and looking for a place to get a good rest, it's good! (=

And hey, they have rainshower as well!
:)

We arrived here after 10 days around Sabah. We were looking for a nice place where to stay, rest in a silent clean room and for a base for 3-4 days in the south of Sarawak. At The Lime Tree we've found what we were looking for.
The director is a kind, informed warm person who can give you advice or only spending with you minutes talking a really impressive good english.
The room (deluxe) was clean and colourful. We love the lime colour.
The breakfast was a wind of west after days of noodles, rice and roti. Good.
If you are a person/couple/group who can spend few more money for a comfortable place like this, book a room at The Lime Tree Hotel in Kuching.

The Limetree Hotel in Kuching is a clean, bright, modern hotel targetting corporate users and young professional couples. The hotel (occupying the former British council building) has only recently opened and the roof top bar was not yet finished when we visited (but due for completion for end of June). The location is very good, five minutes walk to the waterfront and right next to the bars, cafes and restaurants of the East side Chinatown.
We had an "Executive Deluxe" room which included air-con, modern ensuite showerroom, flat screen tv, fridge and was good value. There are larger rooms and suites available. The smaller Superior rooms however probably don't have windows but will obviously be cheaper. There is free wireless internet as well as internet access in the lobby.
The Hotel has a bright cafe in the main lobby where breakfast is served. This was a selection of juices, fruit, bread/toast, Malaysian sweets, and "hot food": usually eggs, sausages, corned beef hash, noodles, etc. Due to the jet lag we were quite late getting up, maybe 10am by which time most of the food was cold. There are also menus for meals and snacks during the day.
All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had a good time. We wanted to visit Semenggoh and Bako National Park and Julie, the Hotel Manager, researched it all and arranged transport for us. It is clear the Julie has worked very hard to set the hotel up and prides herself on the hotel design and the training of her staff.
