This hotel is very well located across the street from the bay and overlooking the night market. Our room was very spacious with an excellent bed (most important). The breakfasts were excellent and other bars and restaurants very good. Thew view of sunset from the pool floor is fantastic. We found staff here incredibly helpful and the example was set by very senior management who were very hands on. Our only negative would be that our room (the only one we can comment on) was in need of some work. Overall we would recommend it to others.

Room Tip: Pay for and/or ask for a water view room - they are really worth the extra.

The location is very strategic as it is situated in the middle of all the best attractions in town.
However, the lobby can become very smelly as the wind is blowing all the smell from the market opposite of the hotel into the air conditioning system of this hotel.

The room is a bit old and housekeeping can be better.
The food at the restaurant is nice.
The internet connection is terrible. It is very slow and unreliable.

You will still need to stay here because you will find it hard to get a better hotel than this in town.

I stayed here on a girls holiday to Kota Kinabalu. We were not disappointed by this hotel. The rooms were excellent with huge, comfortable beds and big bathrooms. There is an excellent bar that does wonderful cocktails and has great staff. The hotel helped us to book excursions around the area and the staff were very helpful. There is a good gym and quite a nice pool.

Great location & close to everything. Walking distance to all the seafood restaurants, Bah Kuh Tea shop, opposite to the Philippines Market, next to the Warisan Square where we can take the free shuttle to the 1Borneo Hypermall.

However, the room is a bit worn-out. Cracks on the ceiling, water leakage from the toilet bowl,... yet the room & bathroom is really spacious . The view from classic seaview room is half-city, half-sea but ok for us since most of the time we were out for tours & shopping. Free wifi in the lobby & the swimming pool is really nice. Staff are friendly & helpful.

Dear D_and_G 2008,

Thank you for sharing with others what's around the Hotel and the shuttle bus transfers to 1 Borneo from Warisan Square. You have highlighted a great point that our Classic Sea View rooms do not have 100% sea view.. We are currently reviewing this to ensure that when guests reserve a "Sea View" room it will be front facing to the sea. I hope to welcome you back to KK for another adventure soon.

Warm regards,
Fiona Hagan

Great superior room facing the sea with daily buffet breakfast with lots of variety except the traditional kuih seems to dissapear v fast. Location was ideal next to night market with great local food.Being in the city you can find local tours and mcdonald all within walking distance.Staff were v helpful. Will come back again.

Dear NSR_13,

It is fantatsic to read that you enjoyed the Malaysian Kueh in the mornings for breakfast, I will followup with our culinary team to ensure we are replinishing this fast enough in the mornings. Please make a trip back to KK to discover more of what there is to offer. Hope to see you again.

Great hotel with excellent service and food. The sea view is the way to go, well worth it.Our room was big in size for 2 people including a large bathroom. Staff were friendly and attentive, always helping with any question we had. The buffet breakfast is superb, changing enough every day and catering well for local and western cuisine. The dim sum baskets were always interesting to explore. Whilst having a leisurely breakfast we used the free WiFi which was of a good speed.
Pool, spa and gym were all good and never seemed too busy.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
Centrepoint shopping mall is across the road with a supermarket, and Warisan Square (also across the road) is great for a massage which we needed after our Mt Kinabalu climb.
The Kampung Air (Sedco Square) Seafood Restaurants are closeby and a must - we went Suang Tian or Twin-Sky restaurant for some great fresh seafood.
Great laundry service is closeby and cheap.
It is a 15 minute walk to Jesselton Point to go out to the islands - easy enough to do yourself, no need to book a tour.
Wisma Sabah has lot of tour agencies where you can get information about tours - I recommend Vivien at Only In Borneo.
Wisma Merdeka was one of the better shopping malls and Gaya St Sunday markets have a lot to offer.

Room Tip: Any of the sea view rooms are well worth it
