What a lovely hotel. We have stayed in Venetian – Macau, Nikko Ho Chi Minh, Traders in KL and finally here – in all hotels we had suites with stunning views. The suite in this hotel is better than them all. Beautiful waterfront views. Stunning view from the club lounge and lovely place to watch the sun set. If you want a hotel where you can lie out on a beach this is not it, go to the Shangri-La. If you want a hotel which is right on the waterfront, lots of restaurants within walking distance and the markets a short 2 min walk away this is the place to stay. Book club access it is definitely worth it for the view at sunset. Stayed here previously and was so taken with the view included KK and specifically this hotel in a 50th birthday celebration trip for my wife. The hotel sent up flowers and chocolates. Our suite had lounge/dining room, toilet, next door bedroom, cloakroom and toilet with shower, bath and WC. Flat screen TV and DVD players in both rooms. The staff were fantastic – I really can’t fault anything in our stay and we will come back.

Room Tip: For suites rooms #19 and #32 are the seafront views, largest seafront rooms are #25, #26, with #23...

Stayed here for three nights in November 2012 as the first part of my honeymoon. Great Platinum recognition at check in with comp upgrade to one bedroom suite with great views. Excellent lounge with very accommodating staff who helped get me my iphone back to the US. Not a resort hotel though, and mainly caters to business travelers. All in all however, an excellent place to stay before jumping off into Borneo.

After climbing the Kinabalu, we've returned to Kota Kinabalu but stayed this time for 5 nights at the Le Meridien Hotel.
We've booked a Deluxe room having sea view and have been asked, if we like to upgrade to Club paying a promotional fee.

At the end, really great stay there, the Club feeling was great!
Drinks all the time for free, Wifi for free, cake at tea time, snacks afterwards and breakfast in the morning, and the staying on the 12th floor.

Really enjoyed the time there!

Seems everything is good about this hotel: location, food, facilities, rooms, staff.... Nothing to complain about. But also, nothing to exclaim about. Nothing stands out as "Wow!" If you want a very good hotel, with no nasty surprises, this would seem to be a good choice. But probably not a hotel you will remember for a long time as being something special.

We had booked a Club Floor Sea View room for a two night stay in KK. Check-in was delayed by 20 minutes because there was no suitable room available. The room we were allocated appeared to be just acceptable, albeit with a restricted view of the quay and ocean. unfortunately, our first night was blighted by strange noises from the AC and a lot of laughing and giggling coming through the interconnecting door to the adjacent room so next morning was asked to move. The duty manager dealt with the situation in exemplary manner; apologizing profusely and moving us to a suite for the second night. He also provided us with a free bottle of wine as a way of making amends. - We really appreciated his concern and attention.
We used the club lounge in the evening for cocktails and snacks and in the morning for breakfast. The club lounge is pleasant with good views of the ocean and local street market.
Apart from the first-night problem with the room - which was dealt with in a very satisfactory manner - we enjoyed our stay at Le Meridien and would opt to stay there again.

Room Tip: Try to get a room without an adjoining door.

Checked into the Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu for one night while on an official trip to KK. Arrived at the hotel a bit before noon and well ahead of the check in time. Was swiftly checked in and upgraded to an Suite as the Deluxe Sea View room was not available at the time. Upon arriving into the suite and was extremely comfortable and modern. The amenities provided were also top notch.

The suite however had a very strong damp smell to it. Upon called Housekeeping, someone was send to spray some freshener in the room. That took care of it for a while but the smell was back later in the evening. They need to find a way to clean the room so that the smell goes away for good. There was also a large hair in one of the bath towels at the rack and hence, I am a bit unsure about the overall hygiene at the hotel.

The staff at the hotel was very courteous and friendly.

Overall it was a great stay and I would not hesitate to staying there again on future trips to KK.
