“Fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 21, 2011

Stayed at the Le-Meridien KK deluxe room from 18th-21st March 2011. The staffs are friendly and very very helpful. The room is clean and if you don't like the smell of cigarettes, request for a non-smoking room because the smoking floor have an aweful smell. The rooms are fine. Large and very comfy bed. in room amenities is awesome! Had a seaview room on level 6. The view offered is really breathtaking because you will have a sunset view from the comfort of your room.

I really enjoyed my stay and i am starting to miss the hotel and KK itself. :(

Stayed for 5 nights and loved it. The staff were excellent. Breakfast was the best I've had anywhere. The pool and gym were also great, especially the pool. Thought it was a nice touch to be invited for drinks with the staff, which apparently is done every week. Would definitely stay there again.

Hello Sue thank you very much for your lovely feed-back. Happy to know you enjoyed the breakfast, it will motivate the team even further to know you describe it as the best you ever had.
Indeed the weekly "Conversations Inspired" with all of our in house guests is something which we enjoy very much and will continue.
Travel safe.

I have stayed here twice, having previously stayed many times at the STAR, which is now overpriced. This time I booked to stay in a Club room, but unfortunately when I arrived I was told there was not one available so I was given a suite with a city view. Very comfortable, but nothing special and decor and furniture now a bit tired looking.

I did have the use of the club lounge, and the staff and atmosphere here are good, but a pity there is no outdoor area to sit with your drink. The limited range of drinks available was a disappointment, though the food was good. And it was a nice place to have a quiet breakfast. But I'm sorry to say that the much cheaper (and admittedly not nearly so nice) Promenade Hotel had better lounge facilities.

Though the pool area is nice, it gets no sun in the morning. I may have been unlucky on both stays, but it was not a place for a quiet read, being full of exuberant children both times. And as others have said, there is frequent aircraft noise as the take off route is directly over the hotel.

Overall, this hotel is reasonable value and in an excellent location in KK. The staff are very attentive, but it just lacks a little something to make it special.

Thank you for your comments which we obviously respect and help in reassuring readers that all reviews are genuine and there are different opinions abouv the services we provide. I agree with you that hotels are all about the special and new things. We have this week opened what is currently the only real steak restaurant in KK that is good news. Our weekly get together with all of our in house guests with a wide range of refreshments is well received and help us to adress the little things with our guests. I hope you will one day stay with us again and we will be able to make you feel more comfortable.
Thank you again

I stayed in LM KK the 3rd time. The service ist very good, staff is very attentive and gives good advise. Although the hotel is getting a little bid old, everything is still fine. Location couldn't be better, just opposite KK Waterfront and the marekt. I will definitely stay here again next time. Furthermore, they are one of very few hotels I know that offer additional benefits for SPG Gold members.

I stayed in Le Meridian KK for 2 nights in Jan 2011 for RM 370++ per night. Everything is perfect about this hotel. The rooms are huge, the toilets are beautiful, the bed + pillows are the most comfortable I have ever slept on! Only "complaints" about Le Meridian KK is its price. Well it is still fully booked (my colleague try to book it at the same time but unable to get a room). I guess you get what you pay for.

Hello Aaron thank you for writing. Apologies for only responding to you today not sure why I missed the prompt on your new review. I am delighted you find our services and facilities value for money and indeed the combination of our location and team dedication to our guests make us a popular choice, with full occupancies on most of the days. If you are thinking of returning and find it challenging to get a room feel free to contact me directly and I should be able to find a solution of course :)
Have a great day

I had a week to stay in this beautiful hotel in Kota Kinabalu. Everything was really fine and the service was perfect. Whenever you called for sth, they provided their help as soon as possible. The variety of food was also acceptable for a business stay. It also had a good gym, but the pool was not so large which is pretty normal for these type of hotels. The only odd thing about there is that Internet was not free of charge! you have to pay 35.00 Malaysian Ringit for every 24 hours which is a little bit abnormal in a 5 star hotel with these kind of facilities. The other problem which could not be avoided in most of the city is that because the town was not so large, the airport is very close to city center and you can hear noise of flying airplanes during day and night. Overall, I absolutely suggest anyone to choose this hotel in case of going Kota Kinabalu.

Thank you for your good review and happy to know you are recommending us. I take note on your comment on internet which continues to be chargeable for the moment in guest rooms but complimentary in the public areas. Indeed KK being a small town the occasional noise from airplanes affect us at all hotels.
Thank you again and hope you will be back.

Not having been to kk or malaysia at all, le meridien was our base for the first few nights of our honeymoon, just to unwind, find our feet, and get into the swing of things. We couldn't have madea better choice. With an upgrade, roses, chocolates, sparkling wine (non alcoholic but its the thought that counts!), portals around the bath, we were truly spoilt.
The staff were all friendly and helpful, the location was central and enabled us to walk everywhere easily, and the facilities and food impressed. Definitely a great place to stay in kk!
