Clean rooms with everything we needed, pleasant staff. Much more/better than we expected for what we paid. When we first arrived we thought we were in the middle of nowhere, but it's actually only one busy intersection away from the more interesting parts of town to walk around/restaurants/waterfront etc. We'd happily go back.

Good honest hotel, rooms clean and functional. desk staff very helpful.
Well equiped gym and small outdoor pool. Beware when using the pool, it is located next to the main river and so you have to put up with strong odours at times!!

Had two early wake up calls and hotel provided 1 packed breakfast and 1 early (0400hrs) breakfast in room upon requst - very welcome

Restaurant good quality but pricy - careful when ordring food always check they have all the order, if you don't, expect to eat at different times!!

Just checked out from the hotel today. Were given a non smoking high floor room as requested when we checked in. Room was extremely clean but amenities worn out such as TV & bathtub. Wifi didn't work at all and it took us whole day - 7 calls with front desk to be moved to a low floor room which supposed to have connection. But after we moved there on the 2nd day, there was still ZERO connection. Another 4 calls exchanged and finally we were connected at the 27th hour after checked in. The rest of the stay was nice. nothing to complain about. Breakfast was good comparing to other budget Malaysian hotels I've stayed. Small swimming pool but people would prefer beach. Location is not very good but still walkable to town center.

the location is quite far from the philipine and night market. we have stayed there for 2 nights (with 1 baby). getting a taxi was not a big problem at all, since they're readily standby next to the hotel. just pay rm10 and you're off to the town and rm15 to the jetty. room was ok, but our room view was facing a construction and it was not good. food, staff friendliness, service were satisfying.

Pros: Huge & Bright rooms, clean beds, good breakfast spread

Cons: bathrooms are a little dated. water pressure is off so sometimes the water doesn't run well. runs out of hot water during dinner time. Hot water only comes back on later in the evening.

It maybe advertised as a 4-star hotel, but any discerning traveler should know that the rates are nowhere near those of 4-star hotels. With that in mind, this hotel is worth the money and alot more. Rooms are HUGE and bright, there's good cable TV (BBC, ESPN, CCTV, NHK, etc), great breakfast spread, etc.

Location isn't that great, but a cabride to town shouldn't cost you more than RM12.

Bathrooms are clean, but do bathe before the dinner crowd because the hotel runs out of hot water in the evening (too many people bathing at the same time?). The water gets hot again later at night. In any case, it doesn't matter so much since it's so hot in kota kinabalu. Water pressure might be off for some rooms but it ain't as bad as some of the other hotels i've stayed in.

it is a comfortable average hotel but with nice staff. we stopover for a night before catching a flight out of kk the next day. we booked a good offer of the superior room rate from the hotel's website, including breakfast for 2. we were given a double room, though we requested for twin room as the hotel is full that day. we had dinner at cafe oriental (same place for breakfast), but it was empty. only us having dinner there that evening. however, there's a lot of people during breakfast and the hotel has a good choice of breakfast. the hallway to the rooms on the 8th floor we stayed is pretty dark, it could use more lighting. hotel is close to kk airport, about 10 mins by taxi that costs rm30/way. hotel has a pool but no kid's pool.

I never expect much for this hotel from the rate i get through a phone call.. its only a 1 star hotel rate in KL.. i've check in late due to a flight delay (thanks to AirAsia..) but the front desk staffs attend me warmly handle the process real fast.. i get a room at level 9 as requested.. n i was in awe once i step into the room.. the room condition is about the same with a 5 stars hotel in KL downtown that ive been before BUT this one is a bit LARGER...

Room closet is complete with yukatas, safe, huge iron board with steam iron, muslim prayers mat with sarong (was so pleased with it)... there cable tv channels, minibar, tea and coffee facility, dressing table, lounge chairs and coffee table, nos of table and standing light... bathroom with bathtub, shower curtain, complete toiletries ( i never have a free comb and toothbrush without ask from hotel before)... two daily complimentary international breakfasts buffet (their simple fried kuew teow is so great).. free local newspaper... free shuttle service to downtown (it just 10 minutes stroll anyway).. and there are a lot of taxis downstairs that ready to send u anywhere in KK..

for all the splurges.. i got the room for only MYR140 nett about less than USD 50... i will definitely come back to this 'crib' whenever im in Kota Kinabalu and one of my friend just did today...
