It's a beautiful place, and it has been developed to cater for influx of visitors. They've facilities catering from young kids, to aged and a few wheel-chair accessible toilets/facilities. Do note however, due to the nature of the hot spring (where hot water rushes out from heated source from a hill), it's not easy to move around with wheelchairs, due to the hill slopes.
We went there on a Friday, and it was surprisingly crowded, as many families took time off due to the Muslim sabbath. I was told that Friday to Sunday is the peak period, and do look out for the Federal/State and school holidays, where it will be packed.
They've different pools, some of which are not so clearly marked, so do observed first before jumping in! Some are meant for soaking, some are for wading about, and some are only meant for soaking of the lower limbs. I saw some tourists happily wading inside a (fairly deep) pool meant for legs, only for them to quickly clamber out, when the locals came by and soak their lower limbs in =) !
It's quite a distance away from KK, so do book your own transport and get them to wait for you, cos if you take a Grab (Uber equivalent) or taxi there, there might not be any waiting for you to go back to town..
Overall a nice place to explore, and spend sometime for families, couples and even seniors, so do give this place a try :-) !
