our expectations were high for hotel rafflesia, it was more money that our previous accomadation in kk so we assumed it would be better. the staff were ok, i dont want to say much bad about them because they were able to help us with everything we asked, a smile would have been nice and possibly to look up from their phone whilst talking to us but hey.

ok the room. it was so unkept, it felt physically dirty, the walls had stains all over them which with 1/2 hours work could be cleaned but this has not happend for years. we paid for a sofa in our room, as we had just climed mt Kinabalu we needed to rest, the sofa was in peices.

we could see daylight between the wall and ceiling although no water came through and it was rainging alot so this is at least a positive.

the bathroom looked really nice and was the saving grace for this place, how can there be a bathroom this nice in such a dump. after moving a bucket from over the drain in the shower we had an infestation of tiny flies all over the bathroom, ahhh thats what the buckets for.

all this made me very curious as to the bed. why did i have to lift the sheets and look at the matress, it was disgusting and unnessacery as a new bed in kk dosnt cost the earth. as i said previously, we had just climed Mt Kinabalu and really couldnt face walking round to find more accomadation so we slept fully clothed and checked out the following morning after paying for 2 days upfront.

Oh the bed sheets WERE clean.
dont go to this place save yourself a very dirty night

Booked this hotel thru agoda 1 month prior to our trip. Emailed the hotel twice to inform them about our booking and to inquire about their pick up service at the airport. Received no response. Arrived at the hotel and gave them our receipt and was given our room keys and towels. Room was nice with a big bed and clean bathroom.we booked a rafflesia room and i think the only difference is they have a sofa. Receptionists were nice but was not able to give us any tour info.wifi avail at the lobby or if you move the sofa near your door.. near lots of restaurant and mall. Free cold water so no need to buy one. Il stay here again thanks hotel rafflesia!
