I rarely write a review while still staying at a property but this has me so frustrated. We paid top dollar to be on club floors, moved once as placed by elevators with non stop grinding first go, and then moved to "a very quiet room". The compressors on the roof go non-stop to such a degree the walls shake. I can only surmise that those who praise the hotel are down a few floors. Maybe. But if you want some rest, stay somewhere else. If you want to relax stay somewhere else.

Just returned to australia after two weeks at this lovely resort, its our scond time here and for anyone just wanting to get away to relax in a clean safe place with great food , very friendly people its hard to beat. Its not fast lane and kk is fairly quite with some shopping but to spend some stress free time the resort has it all, great pools, gym. Rooms with ocean and island views are amazing as they have a balcony to enjoy the view and i can say its good.Food and service here are tops with great value as a bonus...we will return.

Room Tip: 0cean view deluxe on top floor

We stayed here over the new year, and although the Resort was packed to the brim, we received uncompromising service from the team at the Club. Kudos to Colin and his staff!

The plus points of this Resort:
1. Very near the airport (tip: cheaper to hire a taxi located on the left of the customs exit).
2. Resort is self-contained, everything is there that you'd need.
3. If you can afford the extra charge, book into the Club - with evening cocktails and private breakfast area. A big plus-plus.
4. Water sports are little pricey, but a must-do as the water is quite clean.
5. Rooms are spacious, at least the ones we were allocated.

Minus points:
1. Being a resort, expect to pay "Resort" prices.
2. If you want sandy beaches, you have to take a boat across to one of the islands.

Otherwise, an excellent resort for your stay in KK.

We stayed in the hotel for 8 nights over Chinese New Year 2013. During the first days of our stay the hotel was crowded because of Chinese new year holidays. The hotel has large area with several swimming pools including kids pools, small beach, golf fields, port, big variety of restaurants. The area is vey clean, beautiful and comfortable for evening walk. There are several islands not far from the hotel - just 10 minutes by motor boats going every hour. We liked beach on Manukan island for its soft clean water and shoals of small colourful fish swimming around you. Quality of food in the pool side Breeze grill reataurant, Waves pool bar and in-room dining was very good. We stayed in pacific club room with golf field view. The room has balcony and was confortable for a long stay. Guests of club have privileges as free evening drinks&snaks and optional breakfast in club area so we preffered to have breakfasts in club as it was quiet, comfortable atmosphere, with beautiful view to the harbour and delicious meals with cap of cappuchino.

Room Tip: Pacific Club room gives additional privileges such as optional breakfast in club area and evening dr...

My wife and I stayed here with my parents in mid Feb for 4 nights and while it does have the quantity, it does not have the quality of a 5 star establishment. It satisfies in terms of location, variety of facilities, and service friendliness. It does not satisfy in terms of food quality, staff training relating to F&B, and wifi access. If you are used to 5 star travel/business, Pacific Sutera will surely disappoint. They are in dire need of a professional F&B director to review ALL their food offerings and staff training in terms of product knowledge.

What specifically disappointed us?
Cafe Boleh: eggs Benedict, congee, French onion soup, bread basket, mango sticky rice desert, coffee
Breeze: salad bar, steak, nachos, flat beer,

In terms of service:
I have to say all the staff were always very, very friendly. Clearly good training in this regard.
On the downside, they did not have a clue about what was acceptable or not. French onion soup without cheese? Eggs Benedict without hollandaise sauce? Flat beer? Are you serious???

We give the Pacific Sutera a 5 star FAIL.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is not directly above the main lobby. It is an open atrium and can be noisy at...

My wife and I stayed at the Magellan for 9 nights over Christmas/New Year (2012/2013) and were delighted with everything about the hotel. Our son is working as a diving instructor and his boat was moored in the Marina which we could see from our room. As my son and his girlfriend (Lylia) showed us around we ate out every evening so the only meal we ate at the hotel was breakfast, there was plenty of choice - even a British fry up of sorts. All the staff were very friendly and couldn't be more helpful especially Raymond (Reception) and Syazwani (Lobby Bar). The facilities at the Sutera and Pacific hotel were very good, Ten Pin Bowling, Snooker. Olympic size Pool and the Flood Lit Golf Course. I am looking to book to stay there this year.
