Food was great with lots of choices and i especially liked d desert choices. room look a bit rundown with a coated plastic for a curtain. d view fr d room was of other building - u can c ppl laundry outside their window. d ac get really cold esp come dawn. quite clean however i think d carpet was eminating stale odor probably d room is an allowable smoking room. didn't ask 4 room change as it is too troublesome. bathroom was quite in good condition but ventilation need 2b improved. if u pass motion, d smell tends to stay. checkg out n in was quite smooth however d staff could be more approachable and friendlier. seems to look down a bit on us (that was d feeling i get when they dealt with us - 2 working ladies attending a seminar!). when i asked 4 a body massage - a lady quite long in d tooth came to attend me and told me that the other ladies filipino masseurs prefers men and she asked us for xtra tipping even though we are already paying top rate.

The hotel room looks old due to the hotel is actually established a long time ago

But trust me... don't judge by its look... the hotel food is the BEST IN KOTA KINABALU...

The hotel is currently undergoing REFURBISH its suite rooms which may brought more comfortable rooms with modern facilities that suite the guest.

Room Tip: The room is small but comfort. Breakfast, Lunch n Dinner is the best choice at the town.

I did not experience extreme delays in check-in or check-out as experienced by a previous reviewer. I was promptly dealt with & given a room.
My room was clean but it did not have a view. All I could see out of my window was a plastic wall. It was probably the roof over the carpark that lights up at night.
The bed was soft but the pillows were limp. I prefer fluffy pillows. Nonetheless, I still got a good night's sleep on the bed.
There was internet available for free at very high speeds via LAN cable.
My only problem with the room was the shower head. It was too short & I could not get it to aim higher for a tall person like me. In the end, I had to bend over or squat to wash my head. Pretty annoying.
The breakfast spread has a lot of variety & the food was of good quality. The food was mostly Asian or Malaysian. There were also pastry & bread at a far corner.
The hotel is located close to the waterfront & it is within walking distance to the city centre, malls, night market, Filipino market & late-night eateries. The food at the eateries across the street did not taste good at all when I went there for a late night meal. I had fried rice which was bland & guava juice which was diluted.
This is an ageing hotel in need to refurbishment but it is okay for RM250+. I'm sure if one were to look harder one would be able to find cheaper & better accommodation.

I was given a room on the 7th floor, and upon entering the room found out i was on a smoking allowed floor. The smell of stale smoke was very strong in the room and i had to return to the reception to ask for a change of room. This time i was given a room on the 9th floor, which is a non-smoking floor. The room faces the sea, which was a definite plus. Before i was given the replacement room, was informed that the upper floors (tenth floor and above) are undergoing renovations from 8am - 5pm. I didn't mind as i would not be in the room during the day.
The room is of average size, with a king sized bed. Rooms have broadband cable, no Wi-Fi.
Hotel is located at the waterfront, a pretty convenient area, only a short walk away from the Philippine's market (good grilled seafood) and pasar malam (night market). There is also a shopping center a short walk away with fast food outlets.
Breakfast variety good, pretty tasty.

Well ubicated, warm personnel, very clean place and with swimming pool, bar, cantin, and everything you need. Only 1 thing: prices for food or bar are a bit overpriced considering that are almost 3 folds up from the local prices. For a dinner you will need at least 180 or more ringgit, while out in a good restaurant you will pay 70 (2 people).

I stayed here only for one night. check in and check was fast enough i.e. less than 5 minutes.
I stayed at the 10th floor but too bad it was not facing the sea.
There is a hair salon, coffee house, lounge, pastry shop i think, fitness centre and spa. Unfortunately, I could not try the fitness centre coz the closed at 9pm and I checkedin at 8pm. Even the salon closes at 830pm. But the massage ends at 2am. It was not very cheap but it's worth a try after a long day at work and flight.
There is a food court selling seafood across the road, opposite the hotel, by the seaside and its is pretty cheap.
They said that this place is very near to the city centre and is within 10-15 minutes walk but too bad I did not have the opportunity to visit the town centre. The hotel itself is less than 15minutes drive from the hotel, without traffic.
The staff responded fast enough on room service request and will follow up to check if the request has been delivered! I really appreciate this.

Overall experience for 1 night stay - Very Satisfied!

Room Tip: get the seaview room and stay at higher floor
