Top drawer - the room (spacious and snazzy bathroom especially) was superbly fitted and immaculately clean, with an enormous and comfy bed with high quality bedding. The location is excellent, near lots of the good restaurants, the shopping and the sites in KK, and was able to park outside the hotel. Staff very efficient and friendly. For the 190RM paid, this was great value for a very nice hotel indeed.

A lot good things have been said in the reviews - the locations, room space, cleanliness.. However I can't find anyone talk about what i think is the best feature about this hotel - its TV system. I have literally stayed in hundreds of hotel around the world (from 5 stars to backpackers) and this is the first hotel which i come across a comprehensive, user-friendly room TV system. First of all, all channels have good signal (so frustrated with the blurred or weak signal channel even in some 5 stars), secondly it has a full array of choice from normal national channels to movies, and games to viewing your bill on TV, thirdly (the bit I like the best) is the dedicated remote control which is so easy to operate (most of the hotel uses controls with a lots of useless buttons and which are irrelevant to the TV)..

Other good stuffs are the use of glass bottle to refill drinking water, and some small detail like the use of hand-fold paper bag as garbage bin in the toilet.

The only downside is each time I open the room door there is breeze of ammonia smell poking my nose, may be is the special cleaning chemical the hotel use to clean the bathroom I am not to sure. The smell doesn't stay long so i am not particular fussy about it.

Dear mnmcsls,

Thank you very much for a positive review on our TV system!
Indeed, it is a feature not much reviewed about thus we are pleased to read yours!

The TV system also allow users to surf the internet from it (kindly request for a keyboard from Front Desk) and has functions where you can choose an 'ambiance' to set a mood in your room ( waterfall, rainforest sound/image etc). There is also a PAYU music library and connection to free online radios.

Thank you for noticing the little details and efforts we are placing in being eco-conscious ; the paper bag made out of used magazines and our new refillable drinking water bottle. We hope to do more in the future.

We certainly look forward to the privilege of serving you again in your next trip and many thanks again for your wonderful review!

This hotel really does have charm about it.
It does all the basics well - nice rooms - clean and quiet, good service.
I recommend staying here if you're visiting KK. Our family of 4 was in 1 room.

TIP: The street the hotel is on is known for it's food. I don't know why - we tried several places and they were poor-ordinary. Perhaps we were just spoilt by Penang. However you can go to the nearby shopping mall and eat delicious local or western food cheaply - about a 300m walk towards the beach.

We stayed at this hotel just one night on the way to one of the island resorts off the coast of Kota Kinabalu. The overnight stay was very pleasant. In summary:

- Good value for money
- Much larger room than expected
- Clean & functional, furnishings are nicer than photos on the web
- Room tip - on top floor level 5 very bright & airy
- Good service - very attentive & helpful staff
- Convenient location - near big department stores, supermarkets, wet market & Jeselton jetty where public ferry, private resort boats & tour boats depart

Room Tip: Get a room on the top floor level 5 very bright & airy!

Located at Gaya street, it is near Sunday market. You may join the airport transportation at bus stop near the Hotel Sixty3. There are many local traditional foodcourt or restaurants around the hotel. You no need to worry about what you wanna eat. The room is clean and they apply free umbrellas for guests. So sweet. The only thing we felt bad is sometime is noisy. Maybe the guests who checked in the room next to us are too excited so I could hear their speaking and shouting.

Very attractive hotel in KK. Quite close to the all main activity over the place in the down town, especially the Sunday Market at Jalan Gaya - in the walking distance. The other advantages was, the Sabah Tourism Office is very close - can be seen easily from the hotel lobby.

Good value for money, clean, simple and nice. The hotel does not provide breakfast but cafe and others food center is just around the street. Should not hesitate to book this hotel when you will be visiting KK.

We stayed at another unfortunate hotel in Kota Kinabalu for way more money, and we later wished that we had stayed in this hotel the whole time. The room is very small but clean and we had great views of the city and the sea. It had among the best food we ate in Malaysia at their breakfast buffet. We had great help at the reception desk.
