Very nice location, just at one end of Gaya street. Convenient for shopping and walking. Decoration is unique with refreshing ginger smell. Room is new and big. The problem is that the family room is just one room. Different from my expectation. BTW, no breakfast in the hotel but you can easily find restaurant for breakfast nearby.

Overall, I would like to recommend this hotel.

Booked the room for relatives from Hong Kong. They stayed for two nights.

Next to the hotel is a bakery shop, opposite are two eatery shops. A block away are a variety restaurants with local delicacies to choose from. Just 5 minutes walk to Sunday Market.

The room was spacious, bigger than our expectation, with a comfortable size bathroom. The only problem was the air-con. It is centralized air-conditioner and the flow is too low, until they have to request for a standing fan to cool the room.

There is a tour desk by the receptionist, but not too helpful. We don't find the guy who was manning the counter friendly nor helpful.

Room Tip: Request for room facing the Tourist information centre. The rooms are bigger. Another thing, ask for...

My wife and I stayed here before and after a stay in the rainforest. After having read so many good reviews here about this hotel, we wondered throughout our stay if we were at the same hotel. The start was not good. We arrived to a very lacklustre welcome that included not helping us with our luggage. Things only got worse after checking in to our room. Upon entering our room, we noticed a very strong smell of mold. There was clear evidence of previous water damage on the walls adjoining the bathroom. When we checked out the bathroom, the shower area was pretty disgusting. There was mold on the ceiling and edges. The sink drain was also clogged to a point of not being able to use it. We asked for another room but it also smelled bad and this time the toilet leaked badly. We asked to be moved again and this time the room was acceptable. The staff brushed it off as a problem in all hotels due to the humidity but there is a thing called paint that guards against mold buildup. This was not a problem in any other hotel that we had stayed in during five weeks of travel in Malaysia. The staff were friendly enough but I wouldn't exactly call them helpful. Wi-Fi access was a constant nuisance trying to get on. We tried the computers for guests downstairs but they were also constantly having problems or some kid was playing games on them. A really big annoyance here were the large Chinese group tours who seemed to think that everyone enjoys watching their screaming kids running around without supervision. They were noisy until late at night and slammed doors making it hard to sleep or enjoy any little time relaxing in the room as the walls are very thin. It was surprising to note that staff allowed this to continue knowing that this may bother other paying guests. The hotel advertises itself as smoke-free but judging by the smell of smoke in the hall and the ashes on the garbage can next to the hotel elevator, some guests are not abiding by the rules. When I brought this to their attention, it was shrugged off. The location of the hotel is fine and it does represent good value if you're a backpacker or in a tour group but this is not a place for a couple who enjoys tranquility. When we returned from the rainforest, we were given a room on the fifth floor which was much better than the horrible rooms that we tried on the second floor. Even though, had we not had a firm reservation, we would have moved to another hotel.

Room Tip: Inspect the rooms and make sure there is no mold, and that the sinks and toilets do not leak.

Stayed for two nights. Hotel is in a good location, close to a wide selection of restaurants, cafes and the various shopping centres. The room was a very good size, clean and well equiped, with a good sized shower room and complimentry tea/coffee facilities. The hotel has a tourist information desk but the main tourist information office is virtually opposite the hotel which can provide lots of infromation. Overall a nice stay the staff were friendly and helpfull.

We stayed here for a total of 5 nights with a Mount Kinabalu trip in the middle. The rooms matched the pictures and were quite large, the bathrooms had amazing rain showers too. They provide some tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms and some small toiletries. The location is great, right on Gaya street where there are lots of convenience stores, cafes and bak kuh teh restaurants (our favourite restaurant was the chicken rice place at the start of Gaya street). It is a very close 10 min walk to the Jetty to take you to the marine park too. The Filipino Market was about 15 - 20 mins walk.

Some reviews mention lack of WIFI in some rooms but the two rooms we stayed in had strong WIFI connection (2nd floor near the lifts) but it was rather slow. The TV does not have many channels and there are movies on demand which require payment. The service was quite good but they never had enough money to exchange even though they posted their rates on a TV in the lobby. We also were given a recommendation by a front desk person to go to a massage place on Gaya street called De Borneo which was the worst massage I've ever had in my life. Some of the other guests were very noisy in the morning so you may need to be prepared to be woken up unexpectedly.

Overall I would stay here again if I didn't use the room too much as it was great value and in a good location.

We stayed for two nights at Hotel Sixty3 in August 2013 and were pleasantly surprised. For the price, I was expecting an average quality hotel but it was actually the nicest place we stayed the whole trip - and we paid double this at some other hotels. The room was quite large, the bathroom is spacious and has a double sized shower, the TV is big and has lots of channels and everything was quite new, clean and in good condition. Also, the bed was REALLY comfortable - this was a nice change from the overly hard beds they usually have in the region.

Breakfast is not included, but there are lots of places to eat nearby. The location was quite central - between the main part of the city and the shopping centre district.

If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay between hiking at Mulu or Mt Kinabalu this place is perfect.

Booked here for two separate nights as was doing the climb up Mt Kinabalu - hotel is well located, not really in the centre of KK, more one end of town but everywhere is walkable and it is near a good collection of coffee shops, restaurants and shops and only a short walk to the seafront. Rooms are really big and comfortable and the bathrooms are clean with a good size walk in shower.
I booked having read so many positive reviews about here and I wanted to like this hotel, but it just kept falling short - the wifi is not accessible in your room and you have to sit outside on the landing to get it to work along with everyone else, so actually you find yourself sitting on the floor sometimes outside your door, you can get a lot of noise from adjacent rooms and from the communal areas outside and unless I directly asked one of the staff at the desk for assistance (check out, question on wifi), they preferred to stay chatting amongst themselves or on the computers.
In reality you probably won't spend much time in your room when in KK so overall the hotel does represent excellent value for money and the generous room sizes are a real bonus but it just fell short on some of its claims and I left feeling a bit disappointed that it could have been a bit better.

Room Tip: Try and get a room away from the lifts - this means you won't be affected by the noise of people...
