“a great half day tour”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

completed this the day after the mount kinabalu mountain track, so the legs were in bits and it was nice to let the train take the strain

it was great and takes you back in time, a mini version of the orient express. Food was really good and non spicy, service great by the very attentive staff. There are 2 stops one to a chinese place and the other to a small town. but if you want you can stay on the train

“Historic moment....”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

Had always been in my to-do list while in Sabah. Remembered, my Late Dad, used to tell me of his trip from Jesselton (former name of Kota Kinabalu) to Tenom and vice-versa. So i went wanting to catch to trip to Tenom but was late for the trip. Anyway, I took pictures and the importance of the railway services those days as a mean of travel in Sabah. Those days the run on Steam locomotive and presently are diesel powered. The old couches are still around to cater for short trips rather than a diverse one.

“Fabulous”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

This was great thoroughly recommend this trip. We booked before we left Australia on travel agent's advice only goes twice a week. Even better we had the Governor on board as it was the week of the elections got to have little cultural things at each stop but this was the best. Probably not so good for little ones as it is slow but for us grown ups fantastic

“Blast from the past”

A little trip back to Colonial days, really enoyed this trip, lots of fun. Enjoyed our lunch and really appreciated the flannels provided when you got back on the train. Also have our 'passports' as a little momento of the trip
