Owner description: The village is located about 25 minutes away from the city. The journey will take you to long roads surrounded by a rich spectrum of greenery and over arched by wild blue skies. In the village, the colors of cultural diversity are not an issue but rather our pride, where you can savor the soul of Sabah. Upon arrival at the entrance of the village, you will be ushered to the warmth of different homes of the ethnicity of Sabah. Each home was built by descendants of the tribes they represent and offer you a truly genuine experience seeing everything in and around the village lends to its magical prowess of taking you back in time. Not only does this village portray these tribes (5 tribes) through the architectural genius of their traditional houses, but also through a range of simulated lives of the olden epoch by the residents of the village. Acquaint yourself with each tribe as they let you come into their house and their simple yet intricate lives. As you traverse the village, you will find demonstration huts along the main houses in which daily activities of old times come into life. For example, the making of blowpipe, starting a fire (from bamboo), tattoo-making (and its symbolisms) and etc. By the end of your journey into the past, you have been given a setting for you to see, hear, taste and feel the uniqueness of what Sabah truly is. An unforgettable encounter of our Sabahan homeland... AS IT IS... AS IT WAS...

“Excellent interesting tour”
Reviewed October 22, 2013 via mobile

We went with locals to this place and they hadn't been before either. We were all impressed. A good time frame and lots to learn and interact in also. We had high tea which was nothing special.

Tip: ignore what the website says about only being able to do tour if you pay double and they transport you to and from your hotel! If you have your own transport just drive out there it isn't far from kk

“Interesting History”
Reviewed October 21, 2013

We went on this tour for something to do, knowing very little about it. It was a very interesting insight to the history of the 5 tribes of Sabah. My husband got to be the Chief of our group and got to do the traditional greeting with the Chief of the Head Hunters Tribe. Then we all got to practice poison dart blowing!

However don't expect too much with the included lunch, it is very basic, but you don't do these things for the food!

“Very professional and educational without cheese!”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

We were a little sceptical about going but I'm so glad we did as it was much better than we expected. It wasn't cheesy at all. It was very well done. Melvin was an excellent guide and the whole experience was professional. It took 3hours for the whole affair which included a dance show at the end followed by a buffet lunch. We took a taxi from KK and saved a lot of money as the entrance price was only 80RM each at the gate. The taxi was 110RM for four of us. Definitely recommend it.

I really enjoyed the variety if demonstrations offered plus the authentic presentation. Worth a visit to learn about the history of the area. Well presented and explained.
