“only the train was worthy”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

staff very funny and nice, nice trip by train to the starting point, we did "advanced" rafting but it was too short, they said that we were going to be in the water for hour and a half and we it was maxinum 40 minutes and it was too easy..not advanced at all, 235 ringgit not worth it, food afterwards really bad and then we have to wait for train back at station like 40 more minutes, a bit of a tourist trap, be aware!

“A must do in Kota Kinabalu”
Reviewed August 23, 2012 via mobile

All staff are all very friendly and funny and helpful throughout. Every clear instructions. All gears and equipments are in good conditions. When we reached certain parts of Kiulu River where the water current was stable, we are allowed to swim for a while there or splash water to us. A funny exciting experience for family. The lunch included was so so though.

“Good day out marred by theft of camera at Riverbug base camp”
Reviewed July 24, 2012

We had an enjoyable day rafting and the staff were good fun and attentive. However, the enjoyment of the day was ruined when my husbands camera went missing. We reported it immediately to the staff who made some efforts to locate it. The camera was clipped to a life jacket and therefore should have been easily located. Sadly it seems t hg at it was taken by a member of the crew.

“Long day travel but great chance to whitewater raft”
Reviewed May 12, 2012

Riverbug collected us from our hotel in city KK by minvan first and then transferred us to a large coach which made the 1 1/2 hour bus trip comfortable. Then joined local train for another 1 1/2 hour journey into the rainforest area which was a bit bumpy but worth the trip to see outside of city KK and great views of the area. Guides were friendly and most helpful throughout the day. Water level was not at its fastest but gave enough to get the heart pumping which was fun, you don't need to be superfit to raft it is a team effort to get through the rapids. Best part taking a plunge in the river and floating watching the beautiful forest and scenery.

“experience of the riverwaters”
Reviewed April 22, 2012

I have always been fascinated by the power of water. Our friend Lynn that works for the travelagency told us about the riverbug o made the neccessary arrangements for me to try it- The buss journey was a little long to get to the place for begiiners - it was a pleasant route.Together we were 50 people that were then divided into groups. The instructors told us the do`s o the dont`s, security precautions, o appropriate lifejackets. I was surprise att our "boat" was inflatable but then again when the instructor told us how to place our feet then it was understandable. Each "boat" had their own guide. We, the tourists did know eah other but we could stil laugh o splash water to each other. We stopped a few times domn river so we could bathe, taking underwater photos. Our ride took 11/2 hour - it didnt feel that long at all. The agency provided a proffessional photographer, he took photos at different places on our journey to the next station. We, the tourists were of different nationalities so there were tanslators. My guide spoke very good English - he could even show us parts of the countryside o explain some of the history of the different sites. At the end of our ride we were thankful for some dinner o coffee. Also the opportunity to buy the photos - taken with a digital camera. Altogether a fascinating experience for me.
