I stay at the hotel for 5 days. Room has nice view and resort is excellent. Lots of different activities and facilities are available for your relax and fun. Staff are friend and polite and I would stay in this hotel again for my next visit.

We stayed at the Magellan Sutera Resort for 1 week over the 2019 Christmas period.
We were left at the airport with no transfer to the resort which had been organised and paid for previously - which was dissapointing, but a quick taxi ride sorted that out fairly promptly.
The room we had was an Ocean View Delux. A nice room but the carpet was quite dirty and decor quite dated. No major issue though, as we were there for what the resort and KK offered as a whjole - therefore I am not overly fussed about the room as long as the room is clean (which other than the carpets it was) + the bed is comfortable which it was and the A/C worked to offer relief from the humidity - which it did.
All employees were absolutely fantastic to deal with. The buffets and meals were great. The resort is excellent and offered heaps of options and facilities. We went on the North Borneo Cruises Dinner Cruise which was amazing. Washing of clothes is expensive! Around $60.00 AUD for 20 items.
I would offer 5 stars if the room was a little more modern and carpets clean. We will certainly return though - and if you can get hold of a Luxury Escapes package then do so - it offers excellent bang for your buck!

Room tip: Don't use the Taxis, download the "Grab" App which is a rideshare service. It was $2.00 AUD to go from the resort to KK City.

After much searching on hotels for our Christmas 2019 holiday we decided on the Magellan Sutera in KK - so glad we did we booked a Executive Suite which was like an apartments - 2 balconies, lounge room, bedroom, 2 toilets and a full bathroom, as well as a small kitchen. The best restaurant to eat in we found to be Alfresco service and choices were great and between 7-9pm each night they have a drinks package 50% discount. Den, Stanley, Emily & Michelle were amazing staff and could not do enough for you. Check in was very quick although we had to find our own room which was fine. This hotel caters more to the South Koreans but they differently look after westerners. There are 3 different complexes in this hotel as well as a harbour, golf club , cinema, bowling and much more all of which you can use as their guest. the only thing I would suggest they change for the Executive Club members is more of a drink package as there is only Tiger beer, soft drinks, gin & vodka plus wines - NO cocktails for club members and the breakfast could have been a lot better - we eat breakfast afterwards in the five sails restaurant. You need to get a towel for the pool early as they tend to run out around mid day and when you place your towel on the pool chair make sure you also put a book down because the koreans do not understand that the chair is taken with just a towel and they tend to plonk themselves down on your chairs. There are sunday markets in KK which are good to go to. We wanted to have a christmas day dinner here but they did not do a western style one. We will certainly be coming back to this hotel again . I have said it is on a beachfront but the beach is very very small and there are jellyfish in the sea however the pools they have around the complex are more than satisfactory and they have literally hundreds of lifeguards (as most of the koreans cannot swim).

Room tip: Room 7304 is a corner suite room on the 3rd floor

We stayed here for one night on our way to sautera mantanani, we ate 3 meals here and all of them we shockingly bad for a 5 star hotel in malaysia.
Every time we ordered, we asked the waiter is this fresh and made in the kitchen and each time it was obvious that ther food was conserved and merely warmed up in the kitchen.

Room tip: You can stay here as the hotel is well equipped but don’t eat here....
