“terrible”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

our first time(family of 5) at this restaurant because of all the good recommendations from this site...unfortunately its not true....lousy peking duck(even cooked in a microwave????saw that before???) and the too greasy spring rolls...even worst because we are locals and not foreigners(ang mo I guess) the waitress welcome us with an extremely unfriendly face...and than the owner(Karen, I guess as I read from this site)came in and not even put her eye to notice us although the entire restaurant was empty at that time than how come the reviewers said she is friendly??o..opss ya I forgot...we are not "ang mo"....actually the food's price I paid RM122.00 do not bother me at all but the attitude/service plus the lousy taste foods we received....well that count....Moon Bell-bye bye our first and last...what a pity...

“Something Different”
Reviewed April 18, 2013

If you're the kind of diner who thinks that spring rolls and fried rice are exotic Asian food, this restaurant may not be for you. It's charm and attraction is in the different experience that it offers. We were able to sample delicious dishes we had never eaten before. The spicy roast lamb hot pot was excellent - a little reminiscent of Tom Yum, but quite unique, with delicious chunks of roast lamb. The minced duck pancakes were also great. A simple and friendly place.

“Great great great”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

As regular visitors to KK, we always enjoy going back to places where we have enjoyed great food and great service. Moon Bell, along with Sri Melaka, are our KK favourites. Our favourite Moon Bell meal of soft shell crab, seafood stuffed brinjal and lamb with home made noodles was as good as ever. We were in KK during the Chinese New Year celebrations and the restaurant was full of families celebrating - what a great atmosphere!
Some reviewers have commented about waiting staff not speaking English and the quality of the chicken. Re English, non-Malay visitors must remember that they are in a country where English is not the first language so as a courtesy, one should have a small phrase book to hand. Re the chicken - I too have noticed that it is pinker than we would normally have at home. Reason for this is that chicken must be defrosted in the fridge due to high room temperature, according to a chef friend I consulted.

Authentic Chinese Muslim Cuisine. The spiciness of the food are well prepared. I like to have more of their food.

“Disappointing...”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

After seeing so many positive reviews on TripAdvisor, my partner and I were looking forward to trying this restaurant for some local, authentic food. The owner (Karen) was very friendly and the location was very central to the hotel district of KK. As for the food (salt and pepper squid, eggplant, lamb soup)... it wasn't terrible, it was just a bit disappointing. Though it was good value for money, considering we also had a couple of beers with dinner.
