Check in for one night during my weekend stay here in Kota Kinabalu. Surprisingly the check in was quick, the room and toilet was very clean and nice. Comfortable bed and good air conditioning system. The size of the room is a bit smaller but enough to give you a good night sleep. The hotel was just recently renovated.

Locations wise, its right in the city centre (Kampong Air) closed to many Live seafood Restaurants and 7-11 stores. Night market was right in front of the hotel.

Would certainly stay here in future and recommend to others. The staffs are friendly and helpful throught out my stay.

i had this booked way way in advance. 2 superior rooms, 4 beds. all confirmed. when we arrived at 6pm, we were told that they had booked us into another 2 rooms, windowless, queen sized beds. i am NOT convinced that it was a simple mix-up of my original request and i am pretty sure our rooms were put on offer to whatever walk-in guests that came in that day. yes, we did arrive late (like the previous reviewer) BUT this was communicated at the TIME OF BOOKING.

hellllooo...... there is a very good reason why we are opting to pay more (bigger room and windows) and requesting for individual beds. perhaps that didn't really occur to the guy at the front desk. DUH. his apology was weak and insincere to say the least. we cancalled, walked over to another establishment 10 minutes away.

all this crap, straight after a mt kinabalu climb. wonderful.

this is a fairly new (refurbished at least) hotel, but its pretty obvious that the management would hardly care for your business. it is surrounded by a good number of similiar budget options but all of which does a pretty good job of reminding you about the bates motel.

if you're on a tight budget, this is one of your best bets. as long as you can accept the unreliability that comes with it.

thanks, but no thanks.

The hotel was clean, pretty new, and in a good location. We could easily walk to the night market and waterfront. A bit far to Jessleton Point, but still walkable. A funny little clothing & trinket market pops up in front of the hotel every night.

We stayed in the cheapest room, and it was definitely very tight. We had to put our large suitcase on the bed in order to open it. I think the bigger rooms with windows would have been a better choice.

They play "elevator music" in the lobby and hallways which we asked them to turn off at night and in the morning. There were also some rude guests talking loudly in the hallways late at night & early in the morning. We called reception and they took care of it.

Overall, the staff was very friendly and check-in & -out went smoothly.

I booked the hotel for 31.December a week in advance for 2 nights. As my friend and me did not want to sleep in windowless rooms we opted for the Superior Room which they had on opening promotion for 118 MYR. By the time we arrived from the airport - 10pm - and wanted to check in the hotel had a sign saying "Full". I was happy that we did an advance booking and expected everything to go smoothly and saw us in our room in 5 minutes. Unfortunately they had screwed up the reservation and did not have the Superior Room left. After some time they offered the Deluxe room for one night and the Superior for the second - even so they were fully booked. As it was New Years Eve and the staff behind the reception was very helpful but could not decide anything by themselves but always needed to contact someone via mobile we accepted the room and asked to pay only the lower price for both nights. They agreed and we could move in. The Deluxe is really super small - at least the one we had - no window, barely can walk around the bed, and not much of a space between the toilet and the wall.
The Superior the next day was much better and spacious with window. Both rooms were very clean and as it is newly renovated it is value for money.
It is a budget hotel so the area with the night market in the front and the surrounding houses might not be too appealing but inside it is really good.
Despite the failure with the booking I would still recommend this hotel.

I've stayed here for 3 nights during October - but since we checked in pretty late the first night (at about 2 AM in the morning) - the hotel charged us with only 2 nights of stay. We also got the promotional rates - which is without breakfast of course.

The hotel was only 4 months old when we visited. The decor looked tasteful.
The rooms were really clean. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The lobby has free WiFi and the rooms have free internet too.

We got 3 deluxe queen and 1 superior twin rooms. The deluxe room is a bit small - so not very good if you have a lot of luggage. The superior room was ok in size.

The hotel staff was really friendly and helpful. They told us everything that we needed to know to look around.

Since it's a small hotel - it does not have any extra facilities like a swimming pool. So, if your plan is to spend the night comfortably in a budget hotel - this seemed like an excellent choice to me and my friends.
