There's not a lot to do except snorkelling and sunbathing but it is worth a trip for 1 day. The water is clear enough to see fishes all around and the surrounding are stunning! There is a walk in the Island to reach the viewpoint as well. Be there early in the morning in order to avoid the chinese tourist crowd and be ready to pay 10 rgt entrance fee as well

Went to manukan with family and we have group of elderly. Not too bad as the island is big and less crowded as compared to other island. So we managed to get a place to settle down our parents and we did snokerling for the young group. Suprisingly, the water is clear and its a beautiful place as well. End up our parents also join us with some light snokerling along the coast. We really have fun and glad that the elderly group had fun too!

Too bad we only spent 3 hrs there but it would be a good relaxing place for our mind and lighy meditation if we have longer stay there.

Overall good rating.

I took the family (wife and four children below the age of 12) to Kota Kinabalu for a family holiday. We decided to do some snorkeling in one of the islands. After reading the review, it would either be Gaya Island or Sapi Island. But when we went to the Jetty - somehow the sales person at the counter managed to convince me to go to Manukan Island.

Honestly, I have been to many places with good snorkeling sites (e.g. Pulau Perhentian, Sharm El Sheikh) and this is definitely not one of them. But considering that I paid about RM150 for about 2 hours excursion (plus 4 sets of life jackets+snorkeling sets for RM10 each) - and able to do the snorkeling activity with my eldest child - I'm okay with the experience.

It's more of being there with the family - rather than enjoying the underwater scenery.

Enjoyed interesting marine life when Snorkeling and a beautiful and isolated jungle trek though the island with great sea views. It can get very hot during the day so make sure you have a sun protection. It was very crowded when we visited around the Easter break so perhaps choosing a quieter time of the year would be more enjoyable.

We used the Sea Quest service from Pacific Sutera hotel and took a two island package to go to Manukan and Sapi. The trip was totally worth it.

Other activities offered include para-sailing, Banana Boat Ride, Sea walk and Diving.

Has changing room facility and a couple of bars facing the sea for a chill out drink.
