Easy to get to, just negotiate with one of the travel booths at Jessleton Jetty, we paid 100 Rig for return boat ride, hire of snorkel gear and parasailing. If we didn't go parasailing, the trip would have been a complete waste of time.
The water is awful, we didn't snorkel as I didn't feel like swimming amongst a sea of drink bottles, cigarette butts, plastic bags and everything else that was floating in the water. You pay a conservation fee but they certainly don't use the money to keep the water free of waste. There were huge bags dotted along the beach overflowing with rubbish, not a great sight.
We are in the restaurant and while it was ok, the service was terrible - our meals took over an hour to come out and they were only half full.
I don't know what the other islands are like, but I certainly would not bother coming to Manukan again

Nice island where you can walk a jungle trail. Officlally forbidden, the complete trail takes an hour walk with a brief jungle experience), nice beach for swimming and relaxing.

Ride to the island was nice. Good to lounge around the (food) shack. Good soft sandy beach on one side, rocky on the rest. Not much for snorkelling - broken corals, did not see much of sea life under water.

We went on a family picnic and chose Manukan as one of our destinations for island hopping. The beach was clean and there were adequate facilities for picnics, dining and showering. The sea is clean and was popular for snorkeling. Our daughter enjoyed playing in the sand and building sandcastles.

Just a few warnings; the eateries are expensive and not very clean. The shower area can be crowded and you should bring your own soap and shampoo as you can't buy them on the island. If you're using the public boats the queue on the jetty can be long and crowded. If you are part of a big group it may be more affordable to just charter your own boat.

There are many companies that have boats for island hopping and their rates are negotiable. They are all located at the Jesselton Point pier and standard rates are set by the authorities.
