Description: In the year 1988, we first opened doors as Jaws Seafood Restaurant located on the 4th Floor of Gaya Centre. We served a fusion of Thai/Chinese Seafood Cuisine as well as Dim Sum. The restaurant also hosted banquet events up to 45 tables on a regular basis and soon earned a reputation purely by word of mouth. In 1997, we had a Vision to provide every Dear Guest with our slogan "Where very meal is an Experience". We decided to relocate and rebrand to something BIGGER and BETTER. Every aspect was painstakingly thought of from the Minangkabau -style architecture 'floating' on the lake in a botanical park, the 'floating' performance stage, the naming of the buildings, and to the menu creation. Hence the birth of Kampung Nelayan Floating Seafood Market Restaurant. Currently, we are the ONLY restaurant in Kota Kinabalu to present a NIGHTLY Cultural Dance Performance from 7.45Pm to 8.45Pm showcasing the Largest Indigenous Ethnic Groups in Sabah. Guests are encouraged to get up on stage to participate in some of the dances. We have also achieved a reputation of being one of the Most Unique Dining Experiences in Kota Kinabalu.

Located in Bukit Padang. Restaurant on a boat. Fresh seafood can get here. There also have steamboat. Price are reasonable and some of it are expensive. Can say a place that creates memorable to tourist and those who ate there. At night, they will have entertainment. Traditional performances. One of the attraction to tourist and others as well. The diners can join in their performances and take pictures with the performer.

we had our dinner at kampung nelayan. wonderful place unfortunately it was dark cant see the whole place. they had cultural shows and all the tourist had the opportunity to take photos with the dance troupe. all 11 of us were in the VIP room which was situation in a artificial boat. Love the canoe on the ceiling. they had a very friendly head waitress/captain (in spectacles).

Choices of seafood was limited and expensive. I liked the cultural show and tourist around generally seemed to enjoy it esp when they were asked to participate in the dances and events-eg blow pipe target

“Great hangout place with seafood”

Either the front or at the back, within the same restaurant there are two different dining experience. I love the steamboat & BBQ buffet where I can choose from almost everything at a reasonable price. In the evening, they even have cultural performance.

“A Restaurant for Tourists”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2012

The food is average. Too many guests to prepare quality food. The cultural show (indigenous dances) is meant for tourists. This is a restaurant where Sabahans take their foreign/Peninsular/Sarawak tourists to for dinner.
