Open only at sunday. Very busy market. We can go there to buy a lot of things or just for sightseeing. There's a lot to see there. From food, clothes, souvenirs, plants and even pets. You should go there when you're at kota kinabalu.

I arrived very early around 630 am. It was already steady but not busy

You can get anything-- food, meals, orchids, t shirts, jewellery, pet dogs and cats. It can take hours just to see each stall

The sellers are all friendly and haggling is expected. It does get extremely crowded quickly. However one always felt absolutely safe and welcomed

Better than the 100 best flea markets put together. An absolute great time even if you dont buy

If you get claustrophobic in crowds, then this is not the market for you. Soooooo many people attend these markets every week. They stretch from one end of Gaya street to the other as well as many of the side streets. Make sure you take a hat, some water, and keep your valuables safe from pickpockets. It is definitely worth the experience.

We arrived at 8.30am as per the recommendations to go early and it was still very busy. I do think that this is one of the nicer Asian markets I've been to, in terms of layout and atmosphere, but really you can get the same items at the Kampung Air Night Market and I preferred that one as it is covered so cooler.

The atmosphere is good though, with no one hassling you to buy. They have clothes, local crafts, fruit, veg, pets, plants and more.

It's worth a look, just for the experience

Do come here early to avoid the crowd and also the heat. Almost everything can be found here. From iced cold drinks to local snacks and delicacies to animals like tortoise, cat, bird, goose and dog to native musical instruments to souvenirs such as pearls necklace, bracelets, t-shirts and much much more. we definitely enjoy our visit to the market.
