“Wonderful architecture”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

Went to get my passport ready and stopped over to perform one of my daily prayer routine. The surrounding area was well-kept and sufficiently maintained. The mosque's interior was also spotlessly clean.

“You cant miss the spectacular architecture”
Reviewed December 5, 2012

The mosque is very close to Perdana Putra (Parliament) and is spectacular in terms of architecture.

You can either visit inside or have a good view of the mosque from outside. It is very close to a dining area having plenty of options right from local to continental food.

All the tourist bus services start from right in from of the mosque. So you cannot really avoid this place.

You will notice it from a variety of places in Putrajaya because of the sheer size and presence. And this is one building which stands out from the rest and one does not have to ask for directions for reaching there.

The mosque is very huge with many different structures to admire. From the pattern on the walls, right up to the ceiling, where the dome is located... A helpful tip for first-time visitors, since it is a worship place, it is advisable to wear modest clothes. For men, pants that cover you knees and t-shirt will be sufficient, while for the ladies, there will be robes provided at the entrance for you to wear before you enter. Try to plan your visit during the weekend, if you're lucky, You'll be at the right place to witness a wedding ceremony held here, usually around 11 am in the morning. If you arrive around prayer time too, you'll be able to witness for yourself how Muslims worship their God. usually in the afternoon around 1.30 pm, and in the evening around 4.45 pm.

“Cruise Tasik Offers Great View of Putrajaya Mosque”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

Down the steps from Putrajaya Mosque is the dock for Cruise Tasik Putrajaya which offers a boat ride on Putrajaya Lake. The ride offers great views of landmarks, bridges, and buildings of architectural interest. The structural features of the Mosque can be admired and appreciated from the vantage point of the lake, it's quite picturesque. Near the dock is a row of souvenir shops for cheap souvenirs and t-shirts - my tip? - skip the row of stores outside, and go up inside to the air-conditioned section upstairs where it's more comfortable, and stuff are cheaper! Farther away from tourist foot traffic, the vendors in the secluded shops upstairs are more willing to sell stuff cheaper to make a sale. There's a row of restaurants too, on the other side of the promenade, with the usual Malaysian chains (Nando's, Chicken Rice Shop etc.), with nice views of the lake. It is a pretty quiet and secluded place, not of interest to those who want to feel the pulse of the people - there's no pulse here. Only post-card like stillness. Photography buffs may enjoy coming here, to experiment with composing shots, and playing with light, to capture hues of the sky and the water, and the contrast of greenery against the pink tones of the Mosque, or to capture images of romantic and flamboyant bridges, whether during the day, or at night when they are lit for full effect. If you want great pictures, Putrajaya offers a great backdrop.
