“Putra Jaya Malaysia”

The hotel is set in a lovely location surrounded by it's own garden parkland and the interior of the rooms and public areas are spaciuos and well maintained. The staff are super friendly and very obliging but sometimes things get mixed up in the translation of languages as my wife found out when ordering a jamiesons irish whisky and diet coke. She originally received a can of normal coke which we sorted out but the waiter advised that the jamiesons was still being "made" ,which seemed strange at the time but everything became apparent when an "Irish Coffee" arrived at the table. The menus are quite varied and give a good range of selections even if some choices do not make it up to pre-conceived expectations. The "authentic french onion soup" didn't do it for us but that was about the only disappointment. The local selections were excellent especially the "beef rendang" and "prawn sambal", both on the list at the buffet breakfast and really set the day off to a firey start. Putrajaya is, we've been told, Malay for "new city" and has been built to house government departments so is a little like Canberra in Australia but with absolutely fabulous architecture. One of the mosques looks as if it has been made of stainless steel, it glitters in the sun, amazing. Most of the other buildings are very unusual and a credit to the planners. It's well worth a couple of nights stop over between flights as its only 30 minutes or so from KL airport so you don't have to travel all the way into KL City and get caught up in the frenzy if you don't want to.

Room Tip: Rooms all seem good, maybe one looking downhill towards the city

My stay for 2 nites here was indeed a satisfying one.. It was a Public Holiday where Malaysia celebrates it Eid Mubarak . The hotel did provide us with a remarkably friendly service.
The surrounding is greenary n the landscape is a huge garden in itself..
A walkabout n stroll around the area makes one feel relaxed n unstressful.
However, the room service was lacking..It took several calls before getting anyvanswer.Pizza we ordered turned out burnt which we learnt later that there was a shortage of staff..
There are many vicinity that we could visit and Putrajaya is the capital of most Government agencies. Not to mention the houses of Prime Minister and ministers..
I would ,therefore sumup my stay as a good and worthwhile one.

Very good location - right across from extensive and well maintained park. Beautifully landscaped gardens and good views as the hotel is at the top of a hill. Rooms very good standard and spacious. Fantastic infinity pool with terrific views. Main dining room very good standard with variety of Asian fare. All staff very attentive, friendly and helpful - couldn't fault anyone at the hotel. There are not any shops or restaurants anywhere near the hotel so if you are there alone for a while and without transport you are limited for things to do in the evenings. Very good hotel for a business stay - I would certainly return.

Having spent a number of days in Seremban and Port Dickson, stayed here for one night before flying to Langkawi. Fantastic, from the minute we arrived in our hire car, met at the door by a young man who said he was the 'Car jockey' and duly parked our car for us. Lovely room overlooking some beautiful gardens. The room itself was up to Shangri-la standards and was luxurious. The swimming pool is out of this world, an infinity pool overlooking the city. We spent an hour there and were the only ones using it. Very much a business clientele hotel but still we found it amazing. Staff were great, so helpful about where to go and what to do. Free shuttle bus to a lovely shopping centre with lots of restaurants. Cannot comment on any of the hotel restaurants as we did not use them. A recommended hotel if you are flying from KLIA or just want to relax in great surroundings

Room Tip: Garden room at the back of the hotel, great views and sun on the balcony in the afternoon

My stay was restful and rewarding. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room is clean and adequately equipped. However, car park is a bit far from lobby and have to walk up a slope but it is insignificant compared to the services and hospitality provided. Highly recommended for business trips.

Having always passed PJaya enroute to KL Sentral, I wanted to spend a day here just to explore what this area, previously an oil palm plantation, had blossomed into.

I chose this hotel and was glad I managed to tie this trip in with a birthday stay with a friend from KL.

Having been briefed by the DM at check in on the origins of this hotel, which began as an transit point for visiting dignitaries, one begins to appreciate how its present owner has taken pains to retain part of its past whilst improving it , in keeping with the Shangri-la spirit.

Just across the road from the hotel lies the park.

A parkview room allows one a good view of the area and the original Mosque, PM and got offices. It is pretty esp. when the lights come out at night. The room has the necessary amenities and it is a blend of the modern with a blast from the past or two eg. the CRT television set.

A special mention has to be made to the friendly and helpful staff.

If you have time , do try the boat trip around the lake starting from the Mosque, which introduces one to the infrastructure that is Putrajaya. The hotel offers shuttle services to and from the point of departure on a regular basis.

There is a shuttle service in the morning to its sister property in KL city centre.

If you wish to try something a little different , you may want to give this property a try.

Room Tip: Park View rooms on a higher floor

I took my family here for a weekend. We had a great time. The staff were very courteous and helpful. One actually went out of her way to get us tickets to a cruise which was already fully booked. Will sure be back soon!
