Red Garden is a must! There is an array of amazing food, so hard to choose what to eat - Malay, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Philippino... the list goes on. A very lively food court with singing entertainment. Find a table and wonder round the food stalls until you decide what to have!

First off, you are crazy if you come to Penang and don't eat at least one meal a day at a hawker centre. They are the lifeblood of the dining scene there. But not all are created equal and that's where Red Garden fits in. It's like a watered-down tourist version of what a hawker centre in Penang is. Average at best food ... overpriced options. Can't understand why anyone would choose to eat there when McAlaister isn't too far away.

The food is okay but nothing special. The prices are much higher than on other places. And the service staff is sometimes very unfriendly and impatient especially the "bring drinks" women. But the atmosphere is nice and live music is not bad as entertainment.

Don't ever eat at the fish stall. We had fresh fish and big shrimp cooked on the barbecue. Both were absolutely tasteless, didn't know fish could be such a bad deal.. The sauce served with it wasn't much better. When asking a staff ember about the kind of shrimp we were served he mentioned a name I have never heard of but also said he would not eat it. You might be better off just having ordinary sates.
Also the atmosphere is very touristy, garish and cheap looking,

Food are so-so only, price are expensive, too commercialized place for tourist. Must try the penang famous rojak, that is the only nice and cheap food there...
