It was nice to find a new bistro serving fusion food in the midst of curry country.
Actually we have walked past before, but didn’t go in because it looked expensive. This afternoon we were wandering around little India in the heat of the day. We were hot and tired, and not much else open so we ventured in, and glad we did.

Immediately we were greeted warmly and made to feel comfortable. Although there is no aircon it was cool inside. There are several different seating areas, including a raised platform with cushion seating and a back courtyard. The place feels clean and modern, but funky at the same time.

Prices we found to be reasonable although the serves were rather small. We ordered potato wedges, vegetable bruschetta and a plate of 3 dips. With drinks the bill came to RM47.50. I think it was reasonable value despite the small serves (see my photos). I would stop by here again, but more for a tasty snack than for a full meal.

This place truely is a hidden gem. Tucked away in the busy and chaotic streets of little india, it is worth a visit. The place used to be a Chinese medicinal hall and has been converted into a bistro, as well as a hotel. The owners restored it with patience (more than 2 years!) and respect to this heritage.
I tried their laksa, which is very tasty with all it's fresh herbs. The portion was big, specifically in comparison to the price I paid (something like 10 RM). The waitress advised me to drink their signature drink called Calamansi Freeze. Very resfreshing!
This place is another good reason to come to Penang.

The food is very good. The salad came in huge portion and excellent taste. I tried the Laksa and the Fish and Chips on different time dining at this bistro cafe restaurant. Both dishes were very good. Excellent coffee. Very efficient staff and friendly service. Reasonably priced and great dining atmosphere.

Strongly recommended if you are in Georgetown. It is located in the midst of Little India and easy to find. It belongs to the Ren-i Tang Hotel.
