Staff is nice and friendly. We booked a double room and they upgraded us to a triple when we arrived with no cost because doubles were all booked.

Very clean room and confortable bed and pillow (the single bed was hard like a rock but not the double).

Shared bathroom but clean, in 4 days we never saw any other client in the bthroom facilities at our same time. Some rooms have bathroom, anyway but not all of them.

Thiny walls you can hear neighbours and street noises cause windows are wooden, half opened. Almost like all the other hostels in the area i guess.

There's a computer in the shared area and good wifi reception but difficult to connect t least with my mobile.

Breakfast included as well as water refills for free and hot water.

You have a really good chinese restaurant called Tek Sen just under the hostel, noisy until 21h, when they close. Really recommended to go once at least, not expensive but fuuull of people always.

We recommend it and would go if back in georgetown.

We stayed here for 4 nights and were so happy with our room and the rest of the facilities! Very clean, good rooms with air con, we had a
Shared bathroom which was fine as lots of toilets and showers which are regularly cleaned! The breakfast which is provided is the best we have been given in all of Malaysia, lots of local sweets, meals, fruit and bread. Would highly recommend staying here feels like a hotel :)

Book last minute via expedia, stayed here for 3 nights (from 12/02/14 to 14/02/2014) and without a doubt, WORTH IT!!

Our room is without the bathroom but it is not a big deal for us.The air-condition was fantastic as a Malaysian, our weather is rather hot!the accommodation is really clean, spacious and as we climb upstairs, we simply felt at home right at the 1st moment we are in the room, not to mention bare-footed!!

Mr.Edward has been very helpful and he gave us valuable info about Georgetown, where to visits and places to avoid (totally agree with you!!) and also his jovial expression really makes our trip a memorable one.Not to forget Miss Cath whom explained to us the breakfast meal that the guesthouse provided everyday (different varieties!) and also to the night shift staff (really forgotten his name) whom waited for us the evening for the bicycle that we rent!To the other staff, we would like to give them a thumb up as well (to Mr. Sharukh Khan as well!)

The location is the most important for backpackers like me.For instance, we only need to turn left on to lebuh chulia and board the bus to jetty(for other destination), batu ferringhi, airport and other destination. At night, the famous street food of lebuh chulia will definitely lured you back for more!!on your right, just stroll down and you will reach a few roads, notably lebuh kimberley for the foods (evening time) and also to Chowrasta Market for foods and some delicacies. Also Komtar is located is a mere 5 minute walk.

Heritage Sixteen Guesthouse simply ticks the box in my future Penang trip!We will be back =)

Heritage Sixteen is a very nice and clean guesthouse in the heart of Georgetown. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and the common areas are cleaned every day. Some of the rooms have showers but we did not have any problems using the shared bathrooms. The complimentary breakfast is very good and they change dishes almost every day.

We stayed much longer than we intended and the friendly atmosphere was certainly one reason for the long stay. We'd like to thank the staff for making us feel comfortable.

We stayed at Heritage Sixteen for four nights and really loved it. The rooms are light (windows!) and spacious, shared facilities are clean and the common area upstairs where you'll find some magazines and a (fast) computer is nice and comfy. The staff is very friendly and the (included) breakfast is absolutely great! Coffee/tea, fresh toast, eggs, fruit, nice local sweets and a different local breakfast-dish cooked fresh every day. We loved it!
Overall and compared to other places we stayed in Malaysia, this place is great value for money!

Me and my other 2 friends stayed in a 4 bed dorm room for a night on 29th Dec.
The sleep was comfortable with good beds and pillows. Air conditioning worked well and toilet was clean with good hot shower.
There was also a computer for public use.

There were simple breakfast provided by the guesthouse but if that is insufficient, a market just few steps should fill your stomach.

Stalls serving good food are all around down the road especially the noodle stall. If u've a proper sit down dinner, u can try the restaurant next door.

If all else fails, The person manning the counter should be able to guide u.

Overall, it was a good stay which exceeded my expectations.

Will definitely return in future.

We stayed here for 2 nights in early December. We stumbled across the place by walking around one morning. We viewed several rooms (all of them very clean, newly decorated, funky) and decided on one; a double bed with 2 windows and a shared bathroom.

Of the approximate 12 bedrooms this guesthouse offers, I think 3 have a private bathroom, costing around 110RM. The remaining 9 bedrooms offer single or double bed(s) and a shared bathroom, of which is one of the best, if not THE best, shared bathroom I have used (and I have used a few!). These single/double rooms are around 60-80RM per room.

There is also 3 dorm rooms; 30RM per person. 1 dorm has 5 beds, 1 dorm has only 3 beds, and the third dorm I am not too sure.

Overall, this is a wonderful guesthouse; new, clean, funky Japanese style decor, very friendly and helpful hosts, perfect location, has a common area with computer and magazines, wifi available throughout, a cafe downstairs.

We LOVED our stay here.
