I was amazed by how fast the funicular train can haul 100 people up the steep hill. Excellent views from the top on a clear day and heaps cooler that below. Certainly worth spending a few hours here to explore or enjoy a nice drink with a view.

Very touristic on top!
But if you walk up from the north side, there are some djungle paths and a tar road that you can use. The way is very steep in some areas. Calculate 2 to 4 hours and bring enough water!

The view from the top is amazing; we were very lucky and had a clear day. Do recommend you take one of the buggy rides when you get to the top (about £6 for 300 minutes)

Went there for sunrise shooting together with bunch of photographers. Cable car opened at 6.30am. Breath-taking and cooling. Can have a nice view of whole Georgetown. Do tried David Brown's cafe, simply not bad. Nothing much up there except for the scenery. Just my opinion, owl museum wasn't that great.

Penang hill is a must do when in penang. Upon reaching the top after an exciting ride, the views are lovely. We had dinner at the restaurant. Food was good and experience really enjoyable. Great to see the view of penang in daylight as well as the nighttime lights.
