Seriously, I guess if you go to Penang then you should visit Penang Hill. However, I am not sure if one would like to go there more than once.

The queue to go up the hill, can get quite formidable. We went at around 1000, and had to queue around 20 mins to get a ticket and then another 30 mins or so to get on the tram. Those who came later will have a longer queue to 'enjoy'

Please make this a morning visit. On the hill, you can visit a few places, like the Monkey Pot garden (must go if you are on Penang Hill), Owl Museum and other places.

If you are not sure if you would like to go to Penang Hill, or if you are short on time.. then skip this.

Been here on January 1st 2013, the cable car is brand new although it's replaced the old one on 2010, it's fast to get on top of the hill. View from Penang Hill was great, the air was so clean. To get up here you need to pay RM 30 for return ticket. You can find Hindu temple there ifI'm not mistaken, you also can bring you children to the Owl Museum, please don't mistaken, there is no life owl there, only the art stuff inspire by owl so please don't be disappoint. Hungry? Don't worry, there is food court there. Don't spent your time all day long here, because there is not much more to see, it will be boring after 2 or 3 hour in Penang Hill.

We took an evening tour to have Dinner at David Browns Restaurant and had a wonderful meal. We were walking around first to look at the top of Penang hill when a large Summer Storm rolled in complete with Thunder and Lightning and a large amount of rain so when we were seated out side under a canopy we could see 180 degrees and watch the storm roll past us whilst enjoying a wonderful 3 course dinner service was good food excellent and worth going up to penang hill and the cable car is a lot of fun up or down :)

i could not appreciate the view because of the haze which chose to attack at the moment i was there. it was cold up there, the train ride was fun. and that was about it. there is a stupid signboard which states 10 minutes to hanging bridge, however the 10 minutes is by the buggee and not walking!! i walked for nearly 30 minutes before realising that there is nothing more to walk to and had to take a buggee halfway back for a cut throat price. the hanging bridge too was not functioning and in ruins. food/drinks/icecream are horrendously expensive at the top. no main attractions except the pretty houses and landscapes. that is all. a big letdown for me and my money!!

Wonderful experience that every person who goes to Penang should see. Ride on the funicular train was an experience and a wide variety of food & beverage shops.
