Gives those who have not been to a khongsi house an idea of the granduer of such a building . Also one can understand the purpose of such khongsi houses ... I think this is something unique to this part of the world , where those migrants who arrived earlier helped those from the same clan, who came later.

A real pleasure to visit. Very good museum explaining the murals and artefacts. Loved the sikh guards. Carved pillars and murals are great. 10 ringget entry fee, good souvenoir shop at the entrance. Go in the evening when the lanterns are lit

You have to pay to get into the Khoo Konsri but there are no guides and no signage to hel you through your visit.
The small downstairs exhibition does give some background but I came away feeling I had no idea what was the significance of what I had really seen

The carvings here are truly amazing and the granite structure is unique. Pay close attention to the rafters that span the whole structure holding up the roof, you won't see rafters like this very often. it's worth the time to read all the history of the Khoo's that are detailed out on the first floor under the temple.

You will feel exhausted taking in all the corners of this place. Everything is so elaborate and done with such painstaking effort you want to feel the sweat and blood shed to have this building erected in the early days. We tried to spend time at the AV presentation but the poor audio drove us off. There are lots of explanations on the walls though for anyone to appreciate all the paintings and their meanings. The Khoo clan certainly stole a march on all the other kongsi in town with their effort.
