We'd been given a 10% off voucher from the Camera Museum, so thought we may as well have a look at it. We arrived and were pleasantly surprised to get a free tour by a guide. Sadly this is where things all went wrong. The museum part details how chocolate/coffee is made and how it has evolved into a worldwide commodity, or at least that's what I think it says since we didn't really have any time to read any of it as the guide basically pushed us through the whole exhibition and when we tried to stop for a minute or two to read anything she stood there tutting, until rounding us back up and forcing us into the shop. It was a terrible experience. Granted it's not a particularly interesting place anyway, but it was made so much worse by the pushy nature of their employees. I wouldn't bother going, the chocolate wasn't even that nice either!

Only popped in cos it was just down the road from where we were putting up. The museum seemed to be just a front for their real purpose - selling chocs, coffees and candies. Staff were rushing us thru the walk of the museum, and that;s when we knew this was a tourist trap.

We didn't fancy any of the stuff they were selling too.. Nay.

Things were pricey but the staff were keen to open everything for us to try, including chocolates in tiny pieces, coffee and honey lemon tea. There was a room used to explain the history and process of making chocolates and coffee. Apart from that, there was not much to see.

We tried the homemade ice-cream. All favours were RM4 except the durian ice-cream was RM6. The lady selling it looked more like a stern school principal!

The boutique offered free tasting of their products including White Coffee, Chocolates etc....
The products sold were available inside the duty free area at the airport (same price) so you can avoid carrying them around when you are walking in Georgetown.

Do try their ice cream, the taste was good and quite fruity.

If you're a chocolate lover, then this is a unique place to try some local flavors; such as durian, mango, sesame, etc.
