All are well and good except for a rude phone operator I faced when trying to confirm my reservation. Long hold on call and the reservation officer doesnt seems to care much when I related my experience with the operator. Ms. Linda - front office manager do take note.

The furniture in the rooms need to be replaced. Traces of burnt mark on settee. Air conditioner failed to work when we required it. Coffee house not bright enough. Generally the hotel need a total refurbishment - it can be a great hotel. As at today its a terrible hotel.

The rooms in this hotel are quite spacious but unfortunately not very clean. The breakfast buffet is very good, lots of different food types to choose from. Most of the staff are very kind, especially the doorman and the porters but the reception staff.... Vanila was the receptionist who handled our check-in,, she only greeted my husband,, simply ignored me when I asked her something about the room and kept addressing my husband only. I was going to pay for the room, but boy did she have a problem with that... Quite hilarious really. For shoppers it may not be the most ideal location, the Gurney shopping Mall and the hawker food stalls are about a 15 minutes walk along the waterfront.

Room Tip: Avoid the top floor rooms, a lot of noise from the elevator mechanism because it probably worn-out.

A very large hotel with tall and lager reception area. Upstairs, there are resort type facility area with sand beach pay area, valley ball, ping pong table, game table , pool table and swiming pool at edge of the building. Room size and bathroom are big but needs repair or renovate. There is a small (20 inches CRT TV) in the middle of the room ? Very noise at night due to poor sound insulation. You may hear the talking from adjcent room . Buffet breakfast items are good except the servers are not doing their job at all. I will not come back to this hotel.

Room Tip: Get the room facing the ocean

If you look at the building, the location, the spacious rooms, the bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and separate shower, a good management could turn this hotel into a 5 star experience. However, despite the helpful concierge who assisted us with the heavy luggage, the first setback was the reception, where a supercilious female member of the staff made us feel rather unwelcome. During the check-in procedure a family with two small children was also checking in. Obviously, these children were so unruly, that with the running around and loud screaming, you could hardly hear a word what was said at our counter. I realize that there is not much a hotel can do about this, but generally the check in was somewhat under a cloud. We had requested a room on a high floor, to be far away from the street noises, but on that high floor (35th, the hotel has 36 floors), we were disturbed by an intermittent noise; we are almost sure, that the noise was produced by a worn out elevator motor. Our Marsona sound conditioner had trouble to drown out this noise in the night. Furthermore, the room is OK, but it generates with the guest a rickety and threadbare feeling. Repaired tears in the curtains, small holes in the bed clothes, a rickety bed stand lamp that you had to pat with feeling to get the light on (and then don't breath against the lamp), air conditioning that had to restart every hour, thin towels and housekeeping that is less than fanatical with the cleaning (the bathroom was less than spotless). Breakfast is extensive; the staff is dedicated, also at the egg counter, but the breakfast area was crowded and a bit chaotic, also due to the presence of many small children. It is really a pity, this hotel can do so much better. I can recommend the hotel for a stopover, but not for an extensive stay.

I dont want it to sound too bad because I did enjoy some aspects of the hotel but it really needs refurbishment. The food was nice and cheap. No problems with staff. Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. One bathroom had a jacuzzi which worked but it was very loud. Infact, all the plumbing was loud. You could even hear adjoining rooms when they used the bathroom. The air conditioners rattled through out the night. The lobby looks lovely but our floor looked old. We didnt watch TV because the reception was awful. The suite came with a fridge and cupboards, but they were empty. I was disappointed but kids loved level 7 with all the recreational activites for them.

I had confirmed hotel room booking immediately bought it in MATTA fair.
During check-in, an unfriendly reception told the room booking was canceled and it was without my notice at all.
This is awful, but showing email booking confirmation and etc, finally got the room after some “process”.
The room was given at 12th floor, it is spaces, and everything was looks nice and good window view and etc.
However, air condition not working well (not cold); TV is not really working (with loose antenna), bathroom light is not bright and basin’s water taps not function well.
Hoping the air condition is working after few hours but it doesn’t work.
I reported to reception at 6pm saying will send a technician to check and fix. No technicians appear after about 30 minutes and told receptions that I can’t wait and got go for dinner.
After 9.30pm, it still not cold and request reception for room change but her reply was again needed a technician to check and fix.
No-show after 30 minutes and gave a ring to reception again with answer will check with technician once more.
Tiredly waited for another 30 minutes, no-show and no phone call, I decided personally go front counter and repeat the same story again.
Well, after some “process” for another 30 minutes and on duty manager approve my room change request which it was near midnight already.
Unpleasant incident and spoilt my holiday mood. Why they allow guest to stay in the room if it is not good condition and fit for stay? I believe this can be avoided and not to have hotel guest a bad impression.
The hotel’s breakfast is good and location is good also.
Hope they can do it better and their service can to be improved further.
