“First experience with Nyonya food”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

We ate at this restaurant as a group attending a destination wedding. Nyonya cuisine was described to us as Chinese food mixed with Malaysian influences. We had a variety of dishes family style, otak otak (which I though was most memorable), various curry dishes including a curry fish head stew (careful the pinbones!), a fried eggplant dish, pork belly, and a couple spicy stirfry dishes. The food was plentiful, delicious and satisfying, but in my opinion nothing was distinctive to me to define Nyonya cuisine. I also had the nutmeg tea which was interesting.

“Really good”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

We shared 4 dishes between 4 of us - it was all good - the chicken curry Kapitan was wonderful!!! I would definitely go back - manage your expectations- this is typical nonya food - if that is what you are looking for - you is the right place - we loved it.

“Fairly average - worth a look if you are in the area and craving Nyonya food”
Reviewed March 17, 2013 via mobile

We had high expectactions after reading reviews online and certainly the menu read like a who's who of Nyonya classics. However none of the dishes we tried bowled us over with fairly standard versions dished out. Not sure if it was due to our late arrival but most of the meat in the dishes that contained it tasted dried out and tough. Of those we did try the better dishes were the Pork Cincalok, and the Lor Bak.

Certainly we'd consider giving the place a second chance as we hope the 'average-ness' was just an off-night on this ocassion.
