Have been twice and loved the food both times, unfortunately the museum was closed on our second visit but that doesnt detract from the food. hope to go there again on our next visit to Penang

“Best dining in Penang”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2012

We lived here at ex-pats for 2 years and dined out often. This was our very favourite in Penang. Wonderful place with amazing food. The menu is extensive and is very reasonably priced. The place itself is just gorgeous - order then go for a wander and explore. It has so many different areas to dine in so you can have so many different experiences - romantic, big groups etc. We booked for a table of 8 once and had a whole separate room upstairs to ourselves - we felt like royalty! The amazing thing is that you dine so well and when you get the bill it is a very pleasant surprise. One of my fav dishes was the whole baked lobster, with veges and for 70ishRM what a bargain! Staff are great. Only criticism is that sometimes they are so efficient your experience is over so quickly! I suggest telling them if you want to take your time. Its sister restaurant in Batu - Ferringhi Garden is also wonderful - the only place I would highly recommend eating out there. The Sire is great for a 'date night' or a romantic evening.

“Lovely place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2012

Was here for a b'day celebration. Food was good, portion just nice for one person. For coffee lovers, they do have freshly brewed ones available.
While waiting for your food, you can tour around the Penang's heritage building where antique items were stored.

Great dining place!

** For reservations, always request for the table where the indoor garden is. More cooling and relaxing ambiance. They have limited tables for that garden area.

“A nice place to chill..”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 26, 2011

After visiting 2 museums, doing a considerable amount of walking & working up an appetite, my aunt & I were pleased to end up here for a late lunch.

We'd arrived slightly after 2pm, missing the regular lunch crowd, & had the place all to ourselves! The menu has a wide selectiom & reasonably priced. We started off with a salad that we shared, followed by a pasta dish for my aunt while I opted for a lamb dish. So generous were the portions that we had no room left for dessert!

After our meal, we toured the various galleries which exhibited a collection of artefacts of the late Mr. Yeap Chor Ee, a prominent Chinese business man in Penang.

Good food, great ambience, attentive service mixed with a bit of history - wonderful!

“Pampering for Heritage aficionados”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2011

This is a lovely place that my friend and I stumbled upon while we were exploring Georgetown by foot. We were looking for a private museum which also turned out to be this venue. (behind the restaurant)

We were there for tea so desserts were asked. It was pretty impressive and the ambience was really cozy with furnishes that are like a wrinkle from colonial times! :) Service was really satisfactory.

The main highlight was the post-tea walkabout in the museum behind. It might seem in-progress for the exhibits in the attic. Otherwise, the organisation of the artefacts are well-thought off. The spiral staircase and existing stairs have been maintained well. Good that it is not like a storeroom. :)

Will return there someday for a full course nom.. :)
