Tek Sen
Was wondering how it got no 1 best restaurant for Georgetown in TA , most reviewers are foreign tourist staying in hotels in this part of inner city so there is some bias. Tried the food thrice for dinner over the last 2 months . Would Give them top marks for organisation and service, despite the fast turn over of big crowds. The dishes worth trying– curry fish , fried sweetened roast pork , chicken thai sauce, Seafood Lor bak, duck in gravy.
As a local and having tried quite a no of such “chu Char” or “ cooking dishes to eat with rice” in shops around this area, I would rate it as quite good, but not the best or no 1 in Georgetown! There are other equally tasty and good restaurants nearby e.g along or off nearby chulia street/cintra street. Would rate it as a little more pricy for Penang standards. Finding a car park lot can be a problem around this area.

i went with my partner to have lunch, Firstly that's no proper car park for the restaurant patrons, it was a busy dinner at that time and we're quite lucky to get a empty table, The wait staff were not there when i needed a service, the drinks that we ordered only arrives after 10 minutes maybe the wait staff forgotten our order about the cooling tea. The sad part is the we been recommended by the wait staff that their bean curd is delish, I'm a bean curd lovers and i find it over cook and abit burnt, the rest like asam curry fish and kangkung sambal belachan were rather mediocre. I was not satisfaied but what can we do, we still need to pay for the damage. I rather find somewhere else as that's a lot more options in town.

Another regular restaurant for family dinner if we choose to eat Chinese chu char. Food and price is good. My son loves the siew bak in this restaurant. Price is affordable. The restaurant tend to crowded, so go there early at around 6 to 6.30pm.

For non-hawker food, this place was great! Such depth to their Cantonese dishes. Stuff you can't get in China or Hong Kong anymore. Old school.
