The Peranakan Museum actually was a house from a Chinese which came to Penang long time ago and having family in Penang.
In this museum you can see and fell how the situation on the time. The collection of furniture made by wood is amazing.
They also have diorama of bed room, kitchen, praying area, and dinner area.
To have a guide which understand the museum is a must, because there are no clear explanation on site.

i travelled from australia to singapore and malaysia.. everywhere and everything is perfect until I visit this terrible place, I first the tour guide god all making up stories about the place which is irrelevant to what i know about baba and nyonyas , i read the history and this guy if iam not mistaken is sim, trying to fool people around just to get some tips.. second what they show case there it seem not to re real specially the gold and some of the antiques, god hope the tourism department of penang will do random check of museums to make sure that they are all promoting tourism in penang not just to make money.. and anotherthing i think the tour guide are non professional tour guide ive seen then playing around, not assisting guest at all, holding their phone, watching videos.. god during working hours specially in jewellery museum and god even the security guards.. pls pls.. hope you guys change ur attidute towards your working place.. but except for thisone guy we spoke with inside the jewellery museum his name is roman,, smart, intellectual. he provides us better understanding about peranakans, how they differs in culture, tradition and alot of relevant information, knowing that he is filipino and not a malaysian.. kudos to you roman hope all of your workers their will do the same.. so give them training provide proper infomation..... good luck

A representation of a typical Peranakan household, with plenty of porcelain, jewellery and other artefacts to explore. Not amazing by any means, but worth an hour or so of your time

I would absolutely recommend everyone to visit this place.
Massive collections by the mansion's owner, really appreciate the work he did to maintain the place and share the cultures of the Strait Chinese in the old days. Anyone interested in Peranakan should absolutely come to spend a few hours to explore this mansion as it really tells you so much about the interesting lifestyles of the Strait Chinese

Also, I would recommend people to at least taste the food made in the kitchen(restaurant), a little bit expensive than the food on the street, but i would say that's the most authentic Nyona's food we've had in Penang. A+++
