the food was average - it could have been better given the price that we were paying.
reading the reviews below, I cannot say that we were scammed as we walked to the fish tanks and queried the prices and knew what we were paying for.
however, i probably wouldnt return as for that price i could definately eat at much better restaurants in penang for less.

We didn't order lobster becos it was expensive (rm 450 per kilo compared with aud90 in Australia).
We were highly recommended to eat here by our guide (who is good friends with the boss) but wished we checked the reviews here before we went. Food wasn't cooked as well and as tasty as b-grade restaurants in Australia. Even though we didn't need to use our fingers to eat seafood, we got given wet towels which we got charged for in our final bill. We also got charged extra for nuts and rice which we didn't have. I thought nuts are supposed to be complimentary.

Does not taste good and expensive. You don't do business only with location. Guide books for tourists are very unreliable for accuracy.

This restaurant sits on the water near Gurney Drive and the view is probably great during the day, but we were there at night. They have live seafood in tanks as you walk in, with prices indicated for each 100 grams. Three steamed mud crabs with baby pak choy and rice was about US$50 (with beer and juice).

One of the worst experiences of my life !!!! The worst service , as you walk in there are tanks to choose your "fresh fish" . We were not even seated, we were " attacked" to immediately order what we wanted. After we chose where to sit, which by the way the tables and chairs were filthy to no possible explanation we were brought cutlery. These were already dirty and we had to clean ourselves. The bottle of water we ordered was not sealed !! The food was mediocre, the crab was filthy yellow on the inside !!! And then the bill comes...800 RM !! For just 4 pieces of seafood !! Unbelievable. ! If only I had read the reviews about it before ! It is also good to know that a taxi driver recommended it and it is true as the hotel later informed us that they get commision !! We filed a complain with the hotel and the police as the hygienic circumstances there are dangerous to people who visit and the fact that they overprice and overcharge tourists in particular !
