“Great value and the bonus of a pool”
Reviewed August 24, 2013 via mobile

We spent three nights and really could not fault it. The building is interesting with the rooms all coming off a main corridor. I cant comment on the lifts as we had a ground floor room. Friendly staff who always said hello if we passed them either in reception at the pool or anywhere in the complex.
The rooms are clean. Well set out and the only complaint I would have was there was no replacement soap left when they cleaned the rooms. Two bottles of drinking water left per day and there is also a fountain where filtered water is provided. Kettle, tea and coffee that were topped up everyday.
Pool area well kept and the pool was really clean when we were there, a real bonus for the price we paid 110 rm a night.
The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from Chulia Road and we saw this as a bonus, it was away from all the tourists so a bit quieter. The 101 bus drops off near the hotel but with the one way streets we never saw how to get back so just walked.
The hotel is also surrounded by a huge variety of local eating of all different varieties.
Definitely would return if we were there again.

I stayed here last week with friends. We booked the family 6 room (not courtyard) for 2 nights through phone and the overall stay wasn't disappointing at all. Infact, it exceeded my expectations despite reading some reviews prior booking. We found easy parking and arrived before check-in time but the room was ready so they let us in early. Staff were friendly but the bell boy was nowhere to be seen so we decided to carry our bags up ourselves, no big issue though! The bill even came with the wifi password stapled to it for convenience. Room is basic and simple but comfortable. Wifi was slow in the room but nobody mind. Although there was only one bathroom to be shared among us, it wasn't a problem waiting. There were enough towels for everyone and if you need more, just give them 5 minutes to reach your door. We brought a hard drive along, plugged it in and watched movies on the LCD which was nice, I highly recommend you do the same thing to keep your family or friends entertained while resting. The bathroom was especially a concern for some of us and I'm really glad to say that it's clean (although the floors got mighty wet despite the curtains) and the shower and heater worked perfectly fine, you just need to keep turning the tap for a stronger flow. Swimming pool needs major cleaning though. Aircond is adjustable according to our preference and beds were clean so sleeping was pleasant throughout. We found more pillows in the cupboard and they were clean so plus point for that! However I heard a dog barking the first night but it was faint so I assume you could hear it even louder if you stay at the opposite end of the corridor (at the back). I recommend this hotel if you just want a clean, and comfortable stay after a whole day out and about!

Room Tip: If you're driving, park by the pool area at the back or by the building itself, easily seen as y...

Just stayed here for 2 nights and was very pleased. Lovely hotel, friendly staff and amazing value for money. Pool was great for chilling out, get a balcony room on the ground floor if you can opening on to the pool
The rooms are basic but clean and absolutely what you would expect for the price.
Its a little walk into town but there are regular buses or taxis are very good value and the staff are happy to help with booking a taxi.

Room Tip: The rooms with balconies are much nicer.

Booked via online n stayed here fr july 1-4, 2013. As usual, whenever u travel, it's best not to set any expectations n better to go with the flow; However, I find that this hotel exceeded "the flow" as when I drove up, I find ample parking space at the hotel with security. I find this very convenient as I tend to go in n out multiple times n I know I don't have to worry abt finding a space; Checking in was a breeze as the front desk staff were efficient n friendly; My Superior room was wonderful - clean, spacious, nicely decorated n cozy. It had a patio n was facing the pool which is not big but not too small either; Anyway, to cut the review short, I find the design of the hotel unique. Plenty of food stalls n restaurants nearby n location is close to Gurney Drive n the city centre too.

Stayed for two nights at this hotel. Checked in late evening and the check in process is slow it took about 20 minutes to complete the process. We booked for 2 Standard Double Room. The room decoration just simple but toilet a bit rundown, the shower head spoilt and the shower curtain is dirty. The pool is great but when request for swimming towels at the reception, we were informed that "No More Swimming Towels" can get it next morning. Next morning when we asked again for swimming towel at the reception, again they told me "No More Swimming Towels". No greetings from Receptionist whenever you passed the Reception Counter, but the housekeeper are very friendly. Totally No WIFI reception in room, called up reception to enquired and asked for assistance and their feedback "Is Like that", feel disappointed. The hotel location is away from old Penang Road but easy access to all types of restaurants/food and other parts of Penang.

Chose the hotel based on location (a 20 min walk to pulau tikus night market and the core heritage area). This was, however, a poor choice due to service and room experience. The manager/front desk personnel (Hanakim) disregarded my presence and served the European customer behind by getting him to come in front of me. The fact that the other free staff went to serve the european customer as well made me furious as my brother and I stood there for close to 5min without being attended.

The rooms were not exactly clean, our feet were rather dirty after taking off our shoes when we stepped into the room. To those who are sensitive to spiritual beings, we also felt that the room was eerie and wasn't clean.
