“Room need maintenance.”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

Most convenient and cheap transport from Kuala Lumpur is to take a coach from Pudu Raya Bus Terminal to Lumut. Once alight at Lumut bus station, jeti is just few minutes walk and the boat fees to Pangkor Island cost RM10 for a return trip and the journey takes around 20 minutes.

At Pangkor Island, there are plenty of taxi and no need to negotiate but good to ask in advance. It took 15 minutes by taxi (van) from jetty passing Bogak Bay to Nipah Bay Villa right on the door step. It is about 150m walk to the beach. Stayed in the standard double villa for 3 nigths. Staff is quite friendly. Room is quite spacious but need maintenance, bathroom very moldy but good water pressure, linen are tired and worn and aircon dusty. No heating kettle, no safety box and no hair dryer facilities. Wifi is weak. Breakfast served at RM10 and good choices of western food.

Nipah Bay has good beach which is about 400-500m long but both ends has two waste water drain which are dirty and full or rubbish which is ashamed.

Nipah Bay has many local Malay food stores, few serve western food but no Chinese food. There are many shops and restaurants near the jeti. Pasir Bogak Bay which is less than 10 minutes by taxi van has good varieties of good Chinese restaurant.

RM30-40 to rent motorbike, boat trip to opposite island + island hopping cost RM20. RM70 to rent taxi van for 2hrs trip circling the island. Island nearby has good location for snorkeling with great corals, fishes, etc.

the island is really dirty...beach and ocean dirty, most o the guest house are really disgusting...
there are few place where you can find a decent room.
nipah villa has just a decent room and toilet not too bad..
the family and the workers are very noisy anyway and not so riendly.
is just ok...but there is not so much better in tuluk nipah area.
anyway if you are looking for nice beach please change direction: pangkor is full of garbage everywhere.

Room Tip: try to stay far from the restaurant...noisy.

So we've just got out of the pink taxis....nice mate, we check in to find out we've got these hingin wee huts of our own and its 3 people a room, and we did feel that Richard the lad was takin a bullet for us by bunking in with mouldy and teeth. So we scope the room and theres a tv, awright but just showed the most HN stuff ever, like gantin qualifier matches for the world cup. anyway the rooms heavin with lizzards and dinosaurs etc at night ....cheers mate. The scran's tidy but nae chips, speaking of chips however its rather hilarious if you head down the beach get sandy as then come back and ditch all the sand on you onto chris's bed (this can work with anyone but they must be the king of really good jokes and stories and their punches must be really sore), anyway the place is affordable and tidy if your game for lad banter. #getintheshoe

Room Tip: get a tub of nestle ice cream from the shop and just 'scran' it in a well air conditioned ro...

The deluxe room quite good, because just finish renovation, air-cond and television are new. But the family room is a bit poor, everything look old. 2 mins to walk to the beach, nearby the beach got a lot of malay stall.

Room Tip: Better choose a deluxe room.

We stayed there for 3 nights. We had booked a standard room(that looked quite bad), but we got instead a standard chalet, as they had mixed the photos in agoda.com and they were nice enough to upgrade us, when we complained about it. The chalet was quite decent.
The hotel is a 2 minutes walk to the beach and the main road with restaurants and shops.
We were not very impressed with neither the hotel nor the village around it.
The water is dirty and the beach is full of trash everywhere. There are tons of speedboats and jetskis running, leaving absolutely no space for swimming.
The hotel is good enough, but I would not recommend it, unless there is nothing better around. It's not bad, it's just there was nothing too positive to recommend it for.

Room Tip: Get a standard chalet, instead of a standard room.

Booked a room through Booking.com after reading some positive reviews. My second trip within two months and not new to the Nipah Beach area, I could imagine the rooms have not much difference from others in the area. The hotel is located in a crowded area with village type of atmosphere. The room is comfortable enough for a small family providing basic amenities minus the tea/ coffee making facility(to have an electric kettle one have to deposit RM50.00 to be refunded when returning it upon check out) The biggest advantage staying here is the proximity to the popular Nipah Beach with plenty of activities to indulge. If one comes here for the first time and renting a car or motorcycle from the Jetty, one may find difficulty locating the hotel as there is no conspicous signboard to notify visitors.

Found this place on booking.com, a little hard to find as you have to turn in a street. We had to drive around the island twice coz the locals kept asking us to go straight.. But it was a nice drive with a beautiful scenery. Once we arrived, the staff was accommodating and we had to wait for a while as we were there very early, but they managed to get the rooms cleaned and ready for us by 11am when actual check in time was supposed to be 2pm which was really nice of them. Entrance of place was nice, had a tiki beach hut feel, our chalet was really really nice and comfortable! Tv with HBO which was a plus and good a/c. The shower was a bit of a let down - the hot water was too hot and cold was freezing, no in betweens - also the shower head was dripping like rainwater instead of an actual shower, so we ended up using the hose beside the toilet bowl! And there's the occasional fly and Mosquitos so I got quite a few bites while sleeping. Walls are a little thin though, you can hear people walking outside and in the morning we were awakened by the staff sweeping the area, we thought it was a monitor lizard or monkey on our roof - it was THAT loud - but it didn't bother us after a while, we aren't that light of sleepers. Locationwise it was ok - 10 mins walk to the beach, convenience stores and (very pricey) food stalls. If you walk a little bit (towards the direction of the jetty) there's a prettier empty beach, near another smaller fishing jetty. Overall I would come back again but with mosquito coils this time round :)
