Definitely worth a visit, great wall murals and Idols. Climb to the top to have a view of surrounding factories :)

“Absolutely brilliant”
Reviewed April 8, 2012

We had planned to go to Kek Lok Tong but the taxi driver took us to Perak Tong by mistake. So glad he did. The cave temple and wall paintings are magnificent and very atmospheric, and it was great fun climbing through the forest to the hilltop towers above the temple - not for the fairhearted though, particularly when it's wet, as the steps are pretty narrow and winding. We also had the pleasure of watching lots of monkeys scarpering around the temple buildings.

“select few cave to visit if you are lack of time”
Reviewed April 8, 2012

Actually Ipoh itself is a city surrounded by mountain, most of it is Limestone, thus it had many temples built inside caves.
At north part of town, which near JALAN kANGSAR, where there are many branded car outlet and service centre, there are PERAK TONG{perak cave } temple, which for the first timer to Ipoh, a MUST GO PLACE. Parking at carpark, locals come near and help to mop the mirror than you can just paid RM 3-5 to them .'
After that take long stairs and once going inside temple, you will first see the huge statue. After that keep walking to 2nd floor, and 3 floor. This area stairs will make those seldom exercise people feel tough. When go to the highest, can see one big factory, produce tiles. close 6pm. free entrance.

“there are many caves and temple caves - this is Gua Kek Look Tong”
Reviewed January 26, 2012

There are several "temple" Caves I do not see this one reviewed ? - also note there are Caves WITHOUT temples! For years I was taken to the famous Perak caves but today did the lessor known Gua Kek Look Tong with Temple and the Gua Tempurung without temple. What a mistake to have missed these.
Gua Kek Look Tong is located at :Persiaran Sepakat 7, Ipoh, Perak 31350
As a temple cave this was very good with rock formations and a nice garden to walk round .. - indeed one of the better ones . perhaps the only disappointment was the factory at the lake and electricity pylons .. . Malaysia it is truly amazing that a tourist area can be spoilt with this ! This is industrial history with natural beauty clashing with new tourism .
Good car park with polite guards and clean temple - it is a place of prayer but Ok for tourists .. please keep kids on a rein out of courtesy would be nice .. and remind folks of the real purpose some are there for .
Good facilities for the loo as well as well maintained gardens.
donations only for entrance
