“Newest big hotel in Ipoh”
Reviewed September 5, 2012

Facilities are new and therefore appreciated. Don't expect exceptional hotel experiences since Ipoh is quite a quiet little city famous for it's food rather than having any 5 star hotels for the tourist to bask in. It is simply just not that kind of a city. If you have an acute eye for finishing of construction or design, you will find certain things to be quirky or out of place. Hotel food is average. There is enough to do if you want to go to the the gym, swimming pool, or just have tea and sandwiches by the pool and watch your favorite sports channel. I will stay here again simply because it is still the newest brick on the block.

Room Tip: Higher river front floors (7 or >) would be quieter for a peaceful night.

I was there for 2 nights and staying in a 2-room apartment. The apartment looks new and still can see some renovations in the progress. You can see lot of China-made products in the apartment which made the overall standard and quality low. The staff were good but I think they need more training as they are not familiar with their products and packages offered. The hotel location is a bit far from the Ipoh town and you might need car to travel.

Impressed with the touch screen facilities within the room. Comfortable yet stylish design. Stayed here during Ramadhan, fasting period. Limited choices of buffet spread during this period. If you are looking for quiet place to have a meeting/workshop this is a recommended place for Ipoh.

We stayed here for one night as part of a large party attending a family function.
The hotel was opened fairly recently but the rooms already show signs of wear - mouldy shower and cigaratte burns on the carpet and some of the finish is poor - grout on tiles, stickers on glass and mirrors etc.
The family gathering was held in one of the numerous function rooms and the food was excellent but the next mornings breakfast wasn't at the same standard.
The positives of this hotel are that the rooms are large and spacious and the bed was comfortable. In addition, the staff are friendly.
In spite of the negatives, this is probably the best place to stay in Ipoh at the moment.

This is a fairly new hotel, opened late to early this year. Check in was good and speedy and staff is always friendly. I have stayed here now 3 times in the deluxe room and the rooms are ok. Surprisingly for the age of the hotel you can see signs of wear and tear in the rooms (i.e. towel racks hanging off the wall, mould on the shower base, dirty carpets). The sad part about this hotel is you can always see empty plates of food ordered for room service (with leftovers) to sit outside the room for 2 days before it gets cleared. If the management is not careful, I can see this hotel gets run down very quickly but before it happens I am happy to stay here. The deluxe rooms are about MYR 245 a night which I find quite reasonable. This is still by far a much much better hotel that the Heritage, Impiana and Excelsior in Ipoh. Overall it is "still" one of the best hotels in Ipoh and I am happy to keep coming back until it gets run down and it starts looking old and tired like the rest of the hotels in Ipoh.

Being Muslim, check-in with breakfast (sahur) included. Breakfasting manu was OK, but sahur manu are 100% recycle from 12hr previous breakfasting manu. Worse, 1 manu served; were a mixed of over-cooked vege, beef, squid, prawn; really wish; responsible cook can name this manu?
Stayed at this hotel 2times, rooms are good, but the contractors who fixed the bathroom fitting really done a bad job.
