“Ipoh Chicken Rice”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

If u never tasted ipoh hor fun, its better that the ones served in other towns. Bean sprouts was crunchy but chicken was ordinary. The lady boss taking orders for drinks was rude when my friend didn't want sugar in her drink. Gave a lecture about drinking or not drinking also will be sick!!

“Overrated”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

First impressions - Busy place with lots of people waiting
Parking - nearby
Seating - some on the street, some in the coffee shop
Food - Commercial fare, not much soul in it.
Quality - Average cookie-cutter, mass produced tasting. Nothing to write home about. Chicken is as you might expect, so is soup. The old town coffee shops were much better. Beansprouts are good but that's the sprout not the cooking. Drenched in soya sauce.
Price - steep, for this quality and for Ipoh.
Verdict - you can settle for this if you don't have time (or a guide) to hunt for better options - this is easy to find.

“Don't expect too much”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

I know the name is rather famous, but on busy nights, the food doesn't taste as good as some people say it would. On the night I visited, it was crowded but we was seated fast and the food didn't take long to come. The chicken was too dry and the horfun was extremely oily, if they can reduce the amount of oil poured in, the horfun would be great.

“Overrated and Overcommercialized”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

Despite the rave about this place, everything is overrated - especially the price (RM7.50 for a plate of chicken rice in a coffee shop??)

Overall opinion : Meh
