Spent 1 night in Cherating Holiday villa. It is situated about 10 minutes drive from Kampung cherating lama where Impiana and Cleb Med is. The resort has great, clean, soft and white sandy beach with calm clear water. Great for a swim and relaxation by the beach with strong cool sea breeze. There is not much facilities at Holiday Villa apart some a table tennis table and some game arcarde.
The chalets and double rooms are situated at the palace wing while the aprtment are situated at the capital. I stayed at the 2 bed room apartment and the room need improvement. The rooms and toilet are clean but the furniture are old. The sliding door to the room are also broken. The room are quite small just enough for 2 small single bed. One of the room air conditioning was not working however with fast and prompt action from the maintainance guy, the problem was fixed within 1 hour. The room is also not well lit as there is only 1 reading light in each room. There is only a ceiling fan in the living room to keep the living room cool during the day. The main door also have faulty locks but again that was solve by the swift actions of the maintainance guy. The fitness center also has old rusty equipments.
Overall, it was a ' ok ' stay in Holiday villa and they have great staffs. I would suggest to take the 1 bed room chalet at th palace wing instead as it looks new and well furnish compare to the apartment one. The carpark is also limited as it is share with Eastern Pavilion next door. The resorts cater more to local Malaysian as i dont see many foreigners there.
We've stayed 2 nights at the holiday villa. We arrived around 9PM on Friday evening and were given one of the garden chalets. However, since it was dark, we couldn't read any of the roomnumber signs, so had to ask the staff near the pool, where the chalet was. The reception was not very helpful for that.
The room was nice and had a double bed, tv and sofa. The curtains were a bit thin, so we put a towel in front of the window, since an outside lamp was shining through our window and curtain.
The pools are nice, however the towelcounter was not staffed the whole weekend and also -despite the sign "no t-shirts allowed" - a lot of guests jumped into the pools with their daily clothes on. Very un-hygienic!
We did not take any breakfast, since we usually eat toast and jam and think RM22 was way too overpriced for that.
We also went to Kampung Cherating, but were happy we did not stay there, since it looked like a very run down village. The Turtle santuary is worth a visit, follow the road to ClubMed.
All in all we liked the room, the pool and the beach, so were happy with our choice.
