Le Village Beach Resort

Please try to avoid using this resort. Their staffs are rude. I've made my reservation through phone with this resort. The first time I called to inquiry of the room rate. In the same day, I called again to made a reservation and I was informed that they ONLY available for hotel room. Well, I was fine with it and I have reserved for 2 rooms. Then later on, I called again because I forgot to inform them that I prefer to have a interconnected room. The lady promised me to provide me a interconnected room and she reconfirmed my reservation.

On that day, when I reached Kuantan before I travel to the resort. I called them to check if the room is ready and I was informed that there was ONLY ONE room was reserved. I told them I've made an amendment with their staff and they noted with the changes and said I could check in my room at 2pm.

When me and my family reached the hotel and waited to check in. The reception told me to have a seat because they COULD NOT get me a room and their HOTEL ROOM IS FULL. I was surprised because I called a few times and they emphasized that their hotel rooms are available only other types of chalet are fully booked. And what they do available are those chalet facing the main road!! And I also heard them informing the other guests that they do not have heater water on that day!! The rude reception keep on asking me and my family to wait at the sofa seat. After 10minutes, I checked with her again she told me to HAVE A SEAT AGAIN. She told me she couldn't get me a room. How ridiculous is that! I've waited for more than 15minutes and I left the resort and god bless that I found a better resort that's only 1km away from Duta Village Beach Resort that is DE RHU BEACH RESORT.

The reception didn't even bother to call me if I still need a room. I hope my experience with this hotel will not happen on others.

Our family (2 adults and 2 small children) stayed here for 2 nights. From a value point of view, this place is incredible. We got a 2 bedroom chalet with separate sitting room for about $50AUS per night. This included breakfast (which was limited - asian style b'fast or egg and toast). The place has a great tropical atmosphere. Very family friendly with table tennis, very large pool, poolside games room, beach etc. The room was spotlessly clean, but the bathroom was a bit run down. I would definitely stay here again.

We have also stayed at the Swiss Gardens resort, which is much more glamorous, but you will pay a whole heap more.

Better to save your dollars for a fabulous seafood meal at Besarah (which is just down the road about 5 minutes towards town - left hand side). Try their Indonesian Prawns with fried buns in particular. Mind you, what ever you order will be delicious !

When I first entered the Duta Village Resort area, I got pretty excited by looking at the ambience of the resort and the great looking open-air lobby. I don't even mind when they get me waited for my room (although the check in time is 2pm, I've checked in at almost 3pm)

My chalet was a Deluxe two bedrooms, and although i was hoping to get a chalet near to the beach, mine was actually located near the entrance. As for the condition of the chalet, here are my comments

Plus point
It's spacious enough for a family of 6-8, and they even provide two extra mattresses on top of the two single beds and one double bed. The chalet was ensuited with a small pantry, complete with a water heater, microwave, toaster, fridge, plates and glasses.
The pool was huge as well. Overall, i think this chalet would be great for a family stay.

Minus point
I have to call in three times for the towels, and they promised to send it to us before 6pm, but even till 7pm, still no towels. We have no choice bt to skip bath tht evening. And when we came back tht night, the towels was not even worth waiting for. So if you are used to the thick fluffy hotel towels, I suggest u bring it ur own.
And they don't provide liquid soap and shampoo as well, so please be prepared.
What I hate most about the chalet is their bathroom. It's so small, and mine was with a broken shower box and no hot water. It was rather dirty too. I hope they can improve their bathroom conditions, then overall the chalet would be ok.
I would reckon for others to avoid room no 169 and 170, as it's actually facing the swamp (or whatever u call it), I don't think it's worth spending the night there while fighting the bugs. Breakfast was poor too, limited choice and tasteless food. So if u can get a cheaper rate without breakfast, then go for it. Outside food certainly is so much better, even in comparison to the mamak stall!

we held our family day in this resort. Beside the cozy ambiance, around the beach, the others was disasters. we were overcharged for the breakfast, but only one kind food of breakfast was served! BBQ was charged like standard 3-4 star hotel but food was burn and lousy!. the hotel and chalet were in bad condition. We felt like being cheated!. We will never stay in this place again and would not recommend it to anybody.
