“The best hotel in Jerantut”
Reviewed September 6, 2012

Well if you are looking for a Sheraton or Hilton this is not the place to go. Said that this hotel is basic but has got all comforts you need. the rooms are spacious and clean: again you won't find a Picasso in your room but there's a 32" flat screen tv, a clean bathroom with a powerful shower, free wi-fi and complimentary bottled water. there's no mini bar, but a powerful air-condition. Well breakfast only consists of toasts with butter marmalade and tea or coffee but they give you extra slices if you ask and I think it is enough for what to pay. there is also a free shuttle service to the bus station. All in all no luxury, but great comfort and very high value for money.
Finally the staff is very kind and friendly with a special mention for Sal and Maniam who sent us to a wonderful Chinese restaurant nearby. If you want to go to Jerantut or Teman Negara national park don't hesitate to choose Wau hotel.

We stayed here on our way to Taman Negara. We've seen many hotels in Jerantut but this is by far the nicest. All of the others see a bit sleezy. This one was spotless clean. We had a room at second floor (no elevators in this hotel), with three beds. Good beds. The room also was spotless clean. There was no window. After some hours our son destroyed the doorknob of the bathroom door. Staff relocated us to a bigger room at no extra charge. This was a suite room, with four beds. and a window. This made the room a lot warmer because of the sun which was shining through almost the entire day. At night we woke up by dripping water from the aircon. So we switched it off. That had an effect on the temperature.... Even though we did not sleep to good because of the temp, the beds were very comfy.

Breakfast is very simple. Some toast, jam, coffee and tea. Staff was very friendly. The also gave a restaurant tip at walking distance. Good Chinese restaurant where we ran into the guy from the hotel, he went there for food as well! We did not mind that the hotel is relatively far from town. You only go to Jerantut because it's convenient as a stopover to Taman Negara. The town has nothing.

Room Tip: If you have trouble walking, ask for a room at ground floor

We stayed one night before going to Taman Negara.

We arrived very late but no problem for them.

Rooms are clean and nice, bathroom with shower on the toilets, but clean.

Far away from the city, but for the day after, someone drove us to the bus station for free.
They propose services to go to Taman Negara but we preferred to take the local bus, less expensive, and same schedule but twice a day (their shuttle was only at 8 am... and no possibility to change)

Breakfast consist of toasts with jam and coffee or tea, but whatever at what time you wake up.

Great place to stay. Staff is superfriendly and attentive. Rooms are very clean, beds are also good. And be sure to have something to eat at the chinese reataurant across the street. Really top experience if you like fish for a very decent price

We stayed two nights here on our way to and from the Teman Negara Highlands. The service was fantastic, the manager sat down with us and ran us through our travel options for the National Park and arranged with a travel agent for us. He also helped us get our bus tickets and drove us to the station in the morning as we had a early bus to Kuala Lumpur. The room was clean and the hotel is kept up quite well. The breakfast is basic but they had good recommendations for places to eat at night. The walk isn't too bad from the train station, it seems further then it is. Taxi is probably the easiest way to get to the hotel.

This hotel is clean, spacious, and offers excellent service. From the hotel, a minibus service can bring you to the jetty to go to Taman Negara NP. It's a great pick if you want/need to spend a night in Jerantut before heading to the park.
