If you are a nature lover, and have only one day in Cameron Highlands, forget the strawberry farms. Go to the Mossy Forest instead. You can drive up to the top of Bukit Brinchang, the highest point accessible by road in Semenanjung Malaysia. The road is winding and quite small but is still accessible by car.
After parked the car, you can explore a bit of the forest accessible through a wooden walkway into the forest. And if you are a little more adventurest, try the trail from where the wooden walkway ends. It's a bit muddy in some places of course. But then - it's a jungle.
The Mossy Forest is beautiful. The trees, the moss, the smell is all wonderful. It is also a nice place for an outdoor photoshoot. If you can, go there early to catch sunrise (like at 6.00 am or earlier from Tanah Rata). The view from 2000m above the sea level is amazing. You can find the border between Perak and Pahang here. So you can be at both state at the same time. Early in the morning, it takes 30 - 40 minutes drive from Tanah Rata to top of Bukit Brinchang. During later of the day, the traffic normally gets busier especially on weekends therefore the driving time will be longer.
I explore just a bit of the trail. It's so interesting I'm hoping to go there again to explore more.
