Palm Beach Resort & Spa
Ranked #2 of 10 Hotels in Labuan Island
Reviewed October 29, 2013

Nice beach, blue sea, good pool, rustic rooms. I wouldn't recommend going there for the food but then again, who goes to a resort for the food. It's an ideal spot on the island for a family vacation or a quick getaway. Locals as well would often come over for a dip in the pool. It's a quick 20 minutes to get into town. Transportation is provided by the hotel, otherwise car rental is available.

If you want to enjoy quiet, beautiful, peaceful beach in Labuan, YES, I can recommend this resort! My boys really enjoyed the private sandy beach and my wife and I enjoyed beautiful landscape. Swimming pool in front of the beach is enough large and we relaxed. The atmosphere of the room is also good because of antique-like furniture. I appreciate that every staff’s kindness to toddler guests.

This place is 20 minutes drive distance from town. Hotel provides transportation service approximately every hour. If you want to walk around the island, car rental should be better.
Food in this restaurant was so-so for us. It’s difficult to say ‘good’ from Japanese tongues. Some equipment was so old, for example, hair drier was out of order in my room. I hope some improvement. If I go to Labuan again, I will stay here again.

Stayed here as no rooms in the city.
Very Big rooms & Clean.
The service is little slow, but remember this is a resort so everything is a bit slow.
Wifi works fine. Restaurant / Bar good.

Good place for family vacation.

On first impression the room looked nice but when I went to the bathroom it was full of big cockroaches. After asking to change room, (the staff were less than apologetic) I was put in a room that obviously haven't been used in a while. There was no plug for the bath and mold growing on the small shapoo bottles. It was full of Mosquitos so I ended up with lots of bites, think I would have rather shared my room with the cockroaches! Would be nice if some money was spent on the rooms to update them. Will not be staying again

No rooms in town, so I had to stay there again overnight August 20th to August 21st, I did ask for a suit and when I got there realize that the place was too big, my bedroom was very large, but warm as the split AC was struggling in the middle of a very hot afternoon, too many windows and not working broken blind, the sitting room was equally huge and warm, so I decided to move in a smaller executive room 2211, there same size bedroom, but less windows and a brand new cold split AC.
Room is ok and quite, bathroom has been renovated and clean (one small coakroach was trying to get into my toiletries early morning).
They have renovated /painted since my last trip, menu and breakfast are the same, but come on you are in the middle of nowhere and one cannot expect the same treatment as the Four Seasons hotels, the bar has got many different kind of beers now..
WIFI works OK.
The pool is beautiful...
Far East Tropical treat in Labuan, not so bad...even for me being so grumpy at time!

We booked this room for 210MYR/night. To us this was pricey compared to what other people who has stayed at the resort had told us they paid. We would have been alright with cost but the price didn't meet the standard. It should have been priced at maybe 140MYR for what you're getting.

The room was large and so was the bathroom. The room was very nice but the bathroom was in need of severe repair. The bathroom had a smell and most of bathroom was rundown.

The breakfast was fantastic the first day (full buffet) but the second day because resort was empty we had a fixes menu.

The shuttle was unreliable if we didn't book it ahead of time. The schedule doesn't seem to mean a thing. And being so far out of town it's necessary to use if you don't want to spend a lot o money on taxis.

The park for kids on resort was great. My kids really enjoyed it. However they could t use it during the day because it's not shaded and the sun is too hot.

The pools were fabulous. Theres a kiddie pool which was perfect for us.

Finally (nothing to do with hotel) but sandflies here are horrific. If they like you make sure to
always wear bug spray.
