One had to pass through security to reach the beach. You were made to sign a document stating that you can be ejected from the property for violations of their rules. The beach was gorgeous though but separated from the hotel premises by a fence, (a shame, we would have loved to explore further).

The waves were vicious and looked very dangerous to go into so we didn't even get in the water. Maybe we went during the wrong time.

White sand and blue sea with a back drop of tree covered islands. Almost deserted when we went- probably because you need to pass through a barrier and give the guard details. Don't let this put you off.

You have to pass through a security barrier and fill up a form to reach this secluded beach. The reason, as explained in the form, was to limit the visitor numbers - and upon reaching the destination, I truly appreciated the effort. The sand was not too soft but the offshore limestone outcrops reminded me somewhat of Phuket and being a UNESCO geopark, they are blissfully out of bounds to climbers. There were limited faciities other than a small toilet at the back of a malay eatery. You can book boat tours from here and they were actually quite enjoyable - I am glad our guide did not feed the eagles and kites with trash food.
