We stayed here for 2 nights in January after staying at the mutiara bureau bay for 6 nights previously.
The check in process took a long time, we were told to wait for our welcome drink which took 20 minutes... We just wanted to got o the room !
We stayed in a lagoon villa, room 570. This was amazing, over the water, balcony that got the sun from midday and the sunset !
We didn't really feel that comfortable in the hotel, we asked for alcohol at dinner and were told no as there were a lot of Muslims staying. The alcohol at the pool was hidden away and again you had to ask nicely for it ! The food was ok, we were enticed into the BBQ buffet and then charged extra for it. The staff weren't very attentive and. Had to keep asking for water, once they had you in the restaurant they didn't really care.
Luckily we were only there for 2 days, we did day trips to the beach as the beach at the hotel was not good.
I definitely wouldn't go here again as it is very expensive compared to other hotels and we didn't feel very welcome.

Room Tip: I would not stay in the main hotel, the lagoon villas were great but there is building work going on one side of the hotel. Room 570 was great, or any room above 600 !

The resort is nice and quiet, friendly staffs (especially the guy who is in charge of the bikes and the sauna room). We especially loved the balcony overlooking the sea. We had breakfast at the balcony to the sound of the waves and birds-it was perfect.

Nothing extraordinary, but if you're looking for a quiet place to spend time with your loved ones, this resort has what it takes.

The bathroom is nice too.

Room Tip: Pick the sea village, it's closer to nature, large and sunny and offers more privacy.

I like the room, I like the friendly staff, eventho check in process quite slow, I can pass out that one coz the staff was very helpful n friendly.but overall , the hotel need refurbish ASAP..looks old and rusty..

The worst Hotel I ever stay. It nearly spoil my year end vacation.
ROOM:
residence to many crawlies from ants to cockroaches . Beware the attack of roaches while you are sleeping...They are everywhere.

HOSPITALITY:
The hotel fills with Horror 's character . They have Zombie helpers where No nuts what going on and just been brainless.
Don't mess with Werewolf FrontDesk stuff..rudeness beyond repair.
Vampire mentality... charge you a premium ( like sucking our hard earn $$$) but standard merely zero...

FOOD
Food wise ...yummy with varieties. Only compliment I would give.

Lastly. .if.there is a rating for worst Hotel..Langkawi Laguna will be the top on the list.

We booked the room from asia webdirect. we specifically state in our booking that there will be 3 persons in the room and we paid additional charges for the 3rd person. When we check in, the room was not ready. so we waited at the lobby for almost 30 minutes. no one came to tell us that the room was ready until we approached the Front desk. I reminded her again that we booked for triple sharing room and she told me that they have arranged for the extra bed. We went to the room, the extra bed was not there and the airconditioning was not working. We called the front desk and was promised that the housekeeping will send the bed and maintenance will check the aircon immediately. We waited for an hour but no one came. I called the front desk again and she told me that she has arranged for housekeeping and maintenance and we were told that they were on the way. We waited again for another 2 hours before we call again. Finally, the maintenance guy came to check the air con and he showed me the filter which was extremely dirty. He got it fixed. We waited another 30 minutes for the extra bed before calling again. This time we were told that they had ran out of extra bed and we had to wait for it. We were surprised because we were promised that the extra bed was on the way. We told the front desk, Mimi, that we wanted to escalate this matter to the management. She immediately told me that she will call house keeping to come over. After waiting for half a day, housekeeping finally came but all she did was to put a layer of bed sheet over the couch and placed a pillow and blanket on it. Wtf! We paid RM900++ per night for the room. Can you believe that they have the decency to charge so much for this? It is a daylight robbery! We complained to the front desk that this is not acceptable for a 5 star resort but she corrected us that it is only a 4 star resort, not a 5 star! Fine, even if it is a 4 star resort, this is not the sort of explanation you would expect from a 4 star resort. She then told me that she can't do anything because the decision maker will only be in after 8 pm. How is this possible that a 4 star resort is able to operate without a senior management to attend to customer complaints/needs? We then went straight to the front desk to complaint and we spoke to Amelia. She is one of the most unprofessional and unfriendly front desk we have encountered. Not only she did not offer us any solutions, she was very unhelpful, inattentive and impolite to us. She merely told us that she can't do anything because her supervisor was not around and asked us to come back after 8pm. We told her that we expect some sort of solutions, I.e either a refund of the extra person charges or an upgrade. She literally laughed out loud when we said that and she told us in a rude manner that it is impossible! Again, this is a 4 star resort, you would not expect this sort of answer from a front desk staff, she could have explained the situation and to comfort us or call her superior immediately. We came back after 8pm and finally spoke with the supervisor, Nasir. His only solution for us is to setup a thin mattress on the floor and he could not do anything else as his manager is not around to make a decision again. He told us to come back tomorrow morning to speak with the manager. We were too tired to argue and we let it through. We went back to our room and to our disgust, we saw at least 4 cockroaches in the room and ants all over the bathroom. Again, you do not expect this from a 4 star resort. Please do not ever stay here! The price is definitely not worth it.
