My family booked 2 seaview rooms in the last X'mas holiday. Service is good, staffs are friendly, foods are not bad. Kids like the pool and slide. We did enjoy our holiday ove there. As we rent a car, it is easy for us to go anywhere especially to tried more foods in different restaurants. Not far away from town and famous restaurants, it takes around 30 mins.

We stayed here in langkawi lagoon last October 2012. I booked online with the sea view room (not sure if that's what it is called) but upon arrival, the reception staff told me that there are no more sea view rooms available. They upgraded our room instead to sea village at no extra charge. The staffs are quite friendly and accomodating, they always put smile and greet every visitor. We waited for about 30 minutes for them to prepare our room, during that time I went to the lobby toilet and there were foul smell. They should have put an air freshner or something that would get rid of the odor.

The sea village is great for first timers like me, the room have its own kitchen and it's good for a group or a family. Though what I've noticed are, there were few dust, spider webs and a chance to encounter cockroaches. The door lock from our room going to the balcony is broken; this is dissapointing considering that the resort is supposed to be a 4/5 star hotel. I'm thinking that the sea view room might be better than the sea village rooms based on the pictures. The water below the villa is not good for swimming as it is like a mud, the beach at the front of thel hotel is also not good. Maybe the sea water condition depends on the season. The breakfast buffet is okay, but I had a bad experience when I left my table to get more food and when I came back my other plate was taken while there are still unfished food on it.

Overall, our stay in this hotel is relaxing as the surrounding is very quiet. By the way there are large exhaust fan ouside the sea village rooms and it's quite noisy, it feels like it is raining when you open the door. Our room is on the top most so we don't hear it inside. This resort I may say does not what I expected to be 4/5 star hotel, probably only 3.

We arrived in Langkawi and checked in to a hotel and it was HORRID! So I went online and found Langkawi Lagoon. What a lovely change.

Our room was spacious, the food was lovely, staff REALLY pleasant and it was New Year's day - so the hotel organised a banquet and fireworks. The banquet was on the expensive side but it was a lobster festival. All in all, worth it.

Slight word of caution though - the hotel doesn't keep first aid around. There was a case of bad tummy and we just couldn't get any meds (the islands don't have 24 hour pharmacies within easy access).

And finally - if you're going in December - Jan, it's jelly fish season, so you can't use the beach at the hotel. The beach and water is littered with dying, stinging jelly fish!

We stayed at LLR for 3 nights during our visit to Langkawi. We found Langkawi city to be the best in Malaysia. LLR staff was very friendly and cooperative. We stayed in sea village. The color of the water is not good at all but its not dirty because there was no smell. The rooms were good with v rural touch. If u dont like wooden built houses, this is not for u. Less concrete in hotel compared to other top hotels. Good swimming pool. and a v good restaurant, specially breakfast. Less technology, less bothering, less people with lots of advices, more Private moments; loved the place overall. Very safe place. At nights, goto Chenang beach for parties.
The best guide I could find around was Mr Azli - 0060122409996. He can arrange for you scuba dives, mangroove trips, crocodile farm, cable car, etc at a v reasonable price. Suggestion: Dont book any excursions online. U can find them cheaper over there. Take waterproof camera. Take umbrellas.

Room Tip: If you select a room in sea village, get a room on ground floor to avoid stairs (with luggage).

we spent 5 nights at Lagoon Langkawi hotel ,it's not bad they say it's 5 stars but in real it should be 4 stars ,we got a Deluxe Hill View but it was not really good view cause what we only can see from our balcony was the garage and when we ask for upgrade they told us all the room is full and what's only available is the sea villa which is was nearly the same like the normal rooms from inside but the view was much better but the price was 200$ higher per night, the room what we got was clean and spacious ,the breakfast was really great with a nice view of the pool or the garden with many different kinds to choice between them ,if you planning for a holiday with many water activity so you choice the wrong hotel cause this hotel have so small beach and not good for swimming, for the wifi was available only by the lobby and the speed was average, the stuff was really friendly and helpful.

We booked this holiday via airasiago way back in July for 12 of us. Reading the recent reviews about this place, we were quite apprehensive as the reviews were overall not good. As we approached the hotel, we thought that our worse fears were confirmed as the facade of the hotel looked like it needed a serious makeover. However as we entered the lobby area and made our way to the swimming pool and private beach just behind the hotel, we were not disappointed as the view was simply amazing, especially with the sea villas perched on top of the water. Our booking did not come with the sea villa rooms though, so I was hoping that the deluxe hill view rooms would be just as nice. We had booked 4 rooms and the hotel was nice enough to give us the rooms all on the same floor and 2 pairs of rooms next to each other. Worth mentioning here that this is one of the rare occasions that the actual room looks nicer than professional photos shown online. There was even a little kitchenette which was useful for us traveling with little ones. Shower area was marble tiled up to ceiling height and there was also a chaise lounge which could sleep another person. Breakfast was good with plenty of variety, both western and Asian. We may still try other hotels if we are back in langkawi but we would definitely not discourage anyone from staying here.
