We visited here after a chance meeting with the architect and talking to him. Inside you will find all the gifts given to the Malaysian leader from countries across the globe, some wonderful artefacts. If you have nothing to do then visit the gallery

Must visit attraction in Langkawi. Do not miss this at any cost. Great collections of gifts presented to ex Malaysian Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohammed by governments and dignitaries from around the world (includes cars, bikes, F1 sports car). The gallery is spread over three halls A, B and C. Equally impressive is the Islamic architecture in each of these halls with amazing lighting effects.

Dr Mahathir Mohamad, doctor by training,is the architect of modern Malaysia, and a shining figure among statesmen. The fabulous gifts he received during his political career, and the amazing collection of automobiles he rode on are all on display, spanning several floors and buildings, and beautifully presented in clear,well-maintained glass cabinets.
There are ramps for easy strolling across the various levels;the construction and architecture of the buildings are something to marvel at,with crystal chandeliers, stained glass, tiled roofs and lovely landscaping.
As in any place in Malaysia, bathroom facilities are good. Both local and foreign tourists visit in large numbers, and fees are differential.
Definitely worth a visit, especially with children!

If you like politics, art, the history of diplomacy or the intersection of these things, this museum is a unique experience. It has amazing examples of countless nations' artistry in the form of diplomatic gifts. It can be easily done in an hour or two.

Stuff given to an ex Prime Minister? I didn't have high hopes. But this is a truly fascinating museum and very well laid out. In fact, the building itself has some quite beautiful features so make sure you look up at the ceiling while you're walking around. I was amazed by the breadth of gifts and the sheer volume of them. Well worth a visit.
